Update: STATUS 75: IN URGENT NEED OF VALET AND DETAILING. In dealer's rather far off gravelled compound, covered in shipping grime, autumn leaves, some mud, remnants of shipping materials and generally looking a right old mess. Rather wish I'd not seen it in that state, but I was able to get a picture of the option codes sheet (Big A3 page in the boot) and check that all the options ordered were there. (also all the right bits looked like they are in the right places).

Finished paperwork, handed over reg. plate transfer forms, paid some of the deposit, agreed a handover date / time for next Friday.

Collection day! Dealership now has some kind of handover bay where car can be checked out of the rain. Why does it always rain on new car days!? As soon as I get some good weather, a full gallery will follow over the weekend if possible. Looking forward to helping out with any questions about the behaviour of an L&K manual 150TDI :-)

Depends how lucky you are. The car is transported to Emden in Germany where it will be loaded onto a car transporter ship bound for one of several UK ports - usually Sheerness, Grimsby or Hamilton. It's then transported by Škoda to the relevant dealership.

If I recall correctly both Nick_H's 280 and my 280 were built the same week (39).

Mine was still sat at the factory waiting for transport when Nick's was already at Emden.

Nick's was put on a ship for Grimsby almost immediately, while mine then sat at Emden for over two weeks before it was put on a ship to Sheerness.

Nick's car sat at Grimsby for quite a while before it was delivered, whereas mine was delivered to the dealer the same day it arrived at Sheerness.

Then add to that a few days for the dealer to do the prep and registration.

So in my case, it was 4 weeks from build to taking possession.

However long it takes, I'm sure it will be worth the wait and I hope you enjoy your new car.

Ordered my Superb Mk III on the 28th August:

2.0 TDi 150 L&K Hatchback

Rosso Brunello with Beige Interior

Sunroof

Rear Camera

Spare Wheel

Heated Nozzles

Phone Box with Bluetooth

Rear Wiper

Confirmed by the dealer as built this week (Lucky as the colour is being discontinued). Now I'm just waiting for delivery. Which funnily enough is even more frustrating than waiting for a build date, as I know its just sitting there ready for me to drive.

Mine is in transit, but the dealer says it is generally three weeks before delivery, via Tyne

Just had order update from SUK and unconfirmed build week has come forward from week 5 to week 52.

As that's Christmas week hopefully they'll add a few presents to it ;)

My SE Business Estate is now confirmed build week 46.

I'm told my SE Business Estate is also now confirmed for production. Week 47 which should mean delivery in early/mid December.

looks like they are finally doing a run of SE Business estates then to keep the UK happy............!

But all with Helios wheels.....

But all with Helios wheels.....

Yup, if you want Stratos, and I do, then you won't get the car until the new year.... :S

i might buy some alloys of the same size - my thinking is

a) they'll look far better

b ) i can sell them/transfer at the end so wont cost too much

c) would avoid paying any refurb fees at the end of the lease

Ordered mine on 17 October. Have been given build date of week 6/2016.

Has everyone with an SE Business been contacted about the wheels? I haven't so hoping this means I get Stratos.

Not all dealers are equal though... I dare say some will not inform the owners of the change

I've been contacted 5 times, each time to tell me I'm getting Helios, then stratos, then Helios, then stratos, now Helios or wait till february. Dealer promised I'd get stratos in writing so I'm waiting for conf that they'll upgrade to something nicer free of charge.

Well, it looks like I may have jumped the queue. Not sure how this has happened.

Ordered via coast2coast on 1st Sept, and it looks like the car is at the dealer, registered, and ready to be delivered (once we've sorted out all the paperwork).

That's less than 8 weeks from order to being at the dealer.

Was expecting it to be another 6-7 weeks wait.

Was sceptical at first - but it does seem like it's our car.

Anyone else had their build brought forward significantly ?

I think you have been very lucky Just been told mine has been delayed from WK50 to WK52 so absolutely no chance of getting it this year. The dealership has said if I'm lucky Mid to late Jan for delivery. so looks like I'm going to try to sell a car in January not great but I have no other option. Hoping to sell private as I don't want to give it away to webuyanycar.

Ordered 18th of September. (1.4 ACT SEL-Exec)

Probably nearly 17 weeks from order to delivery if I'm lucky. Seem like they don't want to make the 1.4 petrol cars at the moment its all these dirt dirty diesels getting made.

but its great news for you Muddlyboots what did you order.

I ordered a SE Business estate on August 28th and was quoted 10-12wks. A month later I was told build week 46 and now I'm told build week 48. No mention of wheel issues from the dealer, even though I said I wanted stratos at the time of ordering (strato wheels aren't specifically listed on the order form either...hmmm)

I've told them I'll be extremely disappointed if it's not with me by Xmas.

Has anyone any experience of cancelling a car order and getting a refund of deposit? It's a road I am willing to go down if my build week is pushed back even further.

surely its not your deposit, just the admin fee you'd lose?

id imagine their docs are pretty tight in that unless they cant source you a car within a LONG time, then they'd keep that admin fee.

FYI i ordered the same car via Freedom, i think reading the T&Cs they have the estimated lead time + 8 weeks to source a car before they charge you another admin fee if you cancel. i ordered 6 Aug and think its due to be built this week.

Not convinced its got anything to do with diesels. I ordered 18th Sept too, my date has been pushed back to week 51 from 46. Mines a dirty diesel too.

Mine seems to have improved again with an unconfirmed BW going from 201419 to 12 and now down to 04.  Crossing my fingers it'll either remain static or improve further.

It's all you bloomin' paupers with your SE Business models holding up my petrol L&K

Final call with my dealer today, either accept Helios wheels and next week build or wait till "unspecified" new year date if I want stratos. Skoda refused a free upgrade to 18 inch wheels and when I agreed to pay for the upgrade advised it would still delay the build to the new year. So despite several reassurances/promises that I'd get what I wanted I'm now stuck with the Helios.

Have to say I've never experienced spec changes or such long delays on a new car order before. Overall I'm not really impressed with skoda at all. The car really had better be "superb"

They aren't sourcing a car, they order it from Skoda...

It's the 2 year lease deal from Simpsons Skoda in Preston.

I paid £500 'deposit' at the time of ordering which is deducted from the £1490 first payment, then 23 payments of £179pm.
