Button Bingo

Featured Replies

So just wondering what options you would have needed to spec to get the 'full house' of buttons on the centre console in front of the gear stick?

My vrs has power tailgate so to add to the switches for mode, door lock, traction, auto start/stop - has a total of 5 but then there is 5 blanks. I've got no lines here :-( but due to heated seats i have a full line on the a/c panel :-)  Her scout doesn't have any lines though.

Anyone got any lines on the console or even full house?

I'll have Park Assist when I get my car.

I'll have Park Assist when I get my car.

Cool - that leaves 4 to find :-)

I'm thinking heated rear seats, folding door mirrors (but are these on the door), heated windscreen (think this is the blank above 'setup' on the a/c middle dial though). Does front assist have a button or is it infotainment? Is there aux heater or something in some countries?

Heated rearseats has the buttons in back, next to the 220v outlet.

Aux heater has the button next to AC controlls.

Front Assist is in the infotainment.

Heated windscreen is also next to the AC.

Folding Mirrors are on the door.

I can take a picture tomorrow, I have all those options.

I dont think its possible fill in all the blanks.

Having so many blank buttons on even the higher spec cars does look a bit rubbish. I think mine will come with only two or three, leaving a very long line of blanks. My middle of the range Focus has very few blanks for extra buttons, so it is possible to avoid them.

The L&K in the brochure only appears to have 3 blank spaces?

Only other things i noticed are keyless entry/start and also heated windscreen washers - but do either this have a console button? i'd have thought washers would just be heated when required.

I'm assuming rear view camera would be on the infotainment like the reversing sensors hence not this.

I have every option possible on a L&K in the UK and still have loads of blanks .....

I'll take a piccie

I dont have kessy, but AFAIK it doesnt have a button there.

Heated nozzles dont have a button either.

I think that if you spec everything, it just use 8 buttons.

-Doorlocks

-Mode selection

-Parking assist

-Parking sensors

-Power boot

-Acr/esp

-Start stop

-Tpms

Interesting neither our scout or vrs have the parking sensor or tpms/tpli switches on the console just via infotainment

Another thing skoda UK said no to? Or does andyvee have those buttons in his car?

i dont have the power boot, so that button is missing. And I also lack the button for TPMS, but its possible to get one ccording to the manual.

Vrs can also have the pfd button so there's one more

what does a pfd button do?

I dondt know what pfd is.

I think 'PFD' is just the code a dealer uses to order the VRS mode select button in markets outside of UK where it is an optional extra. You won't get a PFD button in the actual car.

What's PFD?

What's PFD?

Seem to be the code for the mode button with a VRS logo, as opposed to the normal mode button (code PFC).  Some details here.

So we still have room for two more buttons, who probably dont exist.

Why not make up some buttons/functions for the blank spaces?

Firstly I'd suggest one that shows a lipstick. Pressing this would engage auto steering, braking and gear changes, switch on all interior lights and align all mirrors (internal and external) so that the driver can see their face for the purposes of applying make up

Secondly, I'd have one with the image of a car close to the rear of another car. This would be for when a loon is tailgating you on the motorway and pressing it would illuminate the rear brake lights, tail lights, reversing lights and indicators in a completely random pattern!

And sure others have some suitable suggestions too.

Machine guns, Oil slick?

Cheers. This is standard isn't it on the VRS? Although have seen some referring to it as an option.

You been watching Goldfinger?

It's varied from market to market AFAIK.  Was standard in the UK, but not everywhere else.

You can get those made up for Golfs...buddy has an ejector seat, oil slick and self destruct buttons. They light up too.
