Mug of tea whilst you drive??

Featured Replies

Didn't someone get done for eating an apple too' date=' IIRC ?

The apple one was a fiasco, they scrambled the helicopter and islander plane to follow her. It was in the papers but it cost high 5 figures to do the "chase"

:rolleyes: Knew it stuck in my mind for a reason!

Maybe it was just another quite day at the station? ;)

Steve

 TOTALLY DISAGREE. Irresponsible in the extreme :thumbdwn: Hot tea!! Come on man THINK !!!!

Whats wrong with a hot drink when your driving, over another drink? I've spilled coffee on me, and it didn't make me do anything different than spilling Coke. It's not but it's not that hot through clothes!

It all comes down to sensible moments to go for any drink. The woman with the apple IIRC, nearly lost control because she took both hands off the wheel at a corner- one to hold the apple the other to change gear!

Oh and you really shouldn't have honked the horn at the traffic lights, why potentially put yourself in a fight or road rage situation? Just chill out and ignore it.

You'd never catch me drinking a cup of tea whilst driving.... I only drink coffee. :)

or lager? :D

I must admit i've had a drink of coke or something out of a bottle but never out of a mug. I've also eaten a pizza on my way out as i was running late and was starved. I'm thankful i took a jacket with me, as on the very last slice, a bit of the topping fell off leaving a nice tomato puree stain.

Shame on you! Eating such a product in your vRS - you should treat her with more respect :P

I can safely say I'll never be in such a rush that I'll eat anything like that in mine :)

Steve

It was a one off and i've never done it again since but i'm thankful the topping fell on me and not the seats or anywhere else.

I think we have all done "something" whilst at the wheel that we should not have at some point, some perhaps more bizarre or peverse than others :D

now that would be telling :naughty:

did have a coffee from services on the toll road. was told "if you don't drink it, it'll go cold"

oh right, like i'm going to take a hand off the wheel an partially obscure my view with a cop @ 80mph.....

@ Mil.....having frequently witnessed the standard f driving in the UAE (3-into-1 U turns across traffic:eek:  ), i really do think people should concentrate a bit more, though as a skoda driver your hopefully better than the majority ........

What b*o*l*l*o*c*k*s  If someone does something wrong then its irresponsible NOT TO point it out for their safety and the safety of others. If you think its ok to drink a hot drink out of a mug in rush hour traffic, then you need your bumps feeling OR you should not be on the road at all. I suggest you engage your brain before posting :finger:

Drinking from a mug is not any more dangerous than drinking from any other cup with coffee. It's the times you choose to pick it up and drink that make it dangerous.

I think you should engage brain and chill out. I'll remind you that it is not your responsibility to police the roads, it's the police's responsibilty. Honk your horn art the time if someone nearly runs into you. It is NOT worth putting youself into a road rage situation No they guy beside just thinks your a ******, and the person probably continued on doing it. I'm sure it will be fantastic when someone really takes offence and beats you up. If you wake up in hospital at least you will be able to say you were in the right...

Wife cooked a lovely grill on the M6 the other night.I just changed gear for her whilst she turned the sausages :D

So when you see a crime being committed in the street you are the **** that says its not my problem and walks away.

Another analogy would be to not pick up some rubbish because I didnt drop it !!

It seems to me that it is you that needs to re-examine how to react to this situation NOT me !!! Get real and have some responsibility :finger:

Err, how can you jump to the assumption that I walk past a crime on the street from what I've said? I have responsibility I just don't put myself at risk for little reason. If someone is diving dangerously I hang back and if neccessary I phone the police, I do not remenstrate and potentially provoke road rage. After all dropping litter and provoking road rage is very different. As I said if I saw a fight in the street, I'd phone the police first, I've seen too many people on the wrong end thanks to trying to help. What is it they say 1 in 5 people in Glasgow carry a knife? No thanks. I'd try to help, but I would not put myself at risk or provoke a dangerous situation. The Police are best equipped to deal with the situation, and they already have one crime, they certainly don't need me with a burst face adding another.

I have responsibility, but I don't use provication or get myself in a dangerous situation.

Robbo I think you need to grow up, accusing Colin of posting 'b*o*l*l*o*c*k*s'

Have you actually read what you have written?

I drink coffee or tea whilst driving at speed, Don't slow down for fog either, also have my breakfast, lunch or tea while driving, :) perfectly safe while driving :D ........................................My Train ;)

To be fair the police certainly advise AGAINST doing such a thing - it puts you at potential risk and that's not what they want.

Talking of road rage, somebody cut me up the other day then started ranting and raving when i honked the horn, and then drove off and kept suddenly stopping by braking with the handbrake (so as not to warn me with his lights). Muppet. Still, he'll get a summons out of it I think

Mug of tea whilst you drive??

Yes please, milk and two sugars. And a double decker.....

hmmmm, double decker. commendable :)

They are the King of chocolate based snacks, however, the chocolate tends to flake off and embeds itsself in the gay white mesh of the vRS seats. (how I envy your pimped up bad bwoy 4x4) :D

mwa ha ha ha ha

hows king now little man?

:P

gay white mesh of the vRS seats.

Thet have in built chocolate magnets I tell thee

I dunno mil, you did admit to 4 rear enders IIRC

Oh shut up! :rolleyes::rofl:

No seriously, I don't think there's anything wrong with that...coz most of the time, I'll have the cup in the holder, and would mainly drink when the car ain't moving...:D

Hey Robbocop,

Chill out a bit eh? Nobody aks for no law enforements amigo, we ees all having eh discooosion here. Chill out a bit, and don't be callin' nobody stoopid. Don't tell me you as been innocent all your life and have not had a glass of wine in your car.

Gwilo...yes, that is currently the situation here. 2-3 people takin' a U-turn at the same time...I guess that's what happens when they give licenses to these idiots easily and build massive roads at the same time. I've become of a hardball on the road lately...I don't let anyone pass on the hardshoulder, always checkin' my rear view to make sure I can stop someone, and I don't let someone change lanes if he ain't indicating.

I know it's a bit aggressive, but I'm just so sick of the drivers in this country. Especially the nationals.

As an ex trucker, i have MADE cups of coffee whilst driving, so I personally dont see what the fuss is about. Good job you cant see into truck cabs as you drive along people, if holding a cup/mug of tea gets you honking your horn.

The only reason I had a hands free kit for the phone is so i could write things down on the move, Also, i didnt have to put down my freshly cooked bacon roll and huge mug of coffee. :D

Although i sympathise with your view slightly robbo, as it seemed to annoy you at the time, i feel you are overreacting a little. And as others have said, its not worth getting killed over someone else having a brew in the car. The bloke next to her could have been a gun toting pimp type dude, with a hatred for horn pressers. You just dont know.
