Only assuming he knows what he got actually ^^^

Which is basically how all this started. 206 & VC from factory is not a valid spec that I'm aware of. So either 206 without VC (doubt it would be the case since he wrote it specifically), or 200 & VC (my guess of what was the case), or... a custom Oz spec/MY

It might only be a small amount of snow where I am, but I took a quick photo of the 4x4 in its natural habitat :D

My understanding is that Australian vehicles are indeed full MY19 (ie. available with Virtual Cockpit etc) but are also still 206 KW. I actually just ordered a 206 Sportline with VC yesterday.

The WLTP standard (which has additional Euro 6+ emissions regulations which has resulted in slightly detuned engines) is technically only enforceable in Europe at the moment. Here in Australia (and possibly other RoW markets outside Europe), the reason we still have the old engine tunes is primarily due to Australian fuels not yet meeting WLTP standards for sulphur content, and which therefore won't work with the WLTP emissions equipment. Consequently, we're still getting engines tuned for pre-WLTP - for a little while longer at least.

Another good reason for Brexit more powerful engines.:notme:

Also cheaper for Skoda not to fit a 15kg lump of metal (GPF) to vehicles sold outside the EU.

On the Golf R hatch (not the estate) they make up for this extra cost by removing the mid resonator, I don't think many would complain  ;)  Although I guess it won't be the case with the Superb due to it being more of a family car

Only 2 weeks left before I'll be able to lift mine and see what is going on at the under-body...

Is that when your warranty runs out. If I was advising someone to buy a Golf R it would be the 306bhp (310PS) version without GPF rather than the heavier, slower 296bhp (300PS) version.

Quite the opposite, it's when it starts as this is when my 272 Sportline should arrive and besides, taking a look at the under-body shouldn't invalidate warranty anyway!  :D

For the Golf R the 7.5 310 is the golden version indeed. Not because of the lack of GPF's but due to the multi point injection.

Had my 245 up on ramps several times already and it is amazing how flat the underside is apart from space for the 3" Milltek stainless exhaust.:)

I hope this was in jest?! I would love to meet the person who could notice a 10ps difference in an engine. Or 15kg for that matter! :D

Personally, if I was advising someone on a Golf R, it would be the lesser spotted manual. You'll struggle to find many of them about though unfortunately

This thread is getting way O/T....more photos required!

Not the best settings for a photo but I think it looks good anywhere

So classy in black.  You do miss the sporty contrast of gloss black vs paint of the Sportline trim in that colour but I fully understand that not everyone is after the same things. Looking great!

The Mk3 Superb saloon is easily the most handsome car to ever come from Skoda, with the Mk2 Octavia estate following second in my eyes. Especially the front is oh so right, great balance between sharpness and maturity, all the angles judged perfectly. And the rear being actually a hatch, screen and boot in one body with a raised shape just completes the look in the best possible way, it will surely be a tough act to follow.

Turned her into a snowmobile.

Yeah, but it's a wonderful five minutes! That's why god made cameras, so you could capture the moment – to prove to the world that the last two hours were well spent.

How very true, in typical British style it started to rain about 30 minutes after I had finished cleaning, polishing and waxing her though

Still looks good today though :inlove:

There's a thread: "Styling and Car Care" where you can post your pictures of water beading!

I always said to myself i didnt want a black car before but as i got mine used and the spec was what i wanted black it was. I do like it all in black, stealth looking esp with no chrome on it.
