Toledo itech taxi

Featured Replies

Used to have a Fabia vRS and was quite active on here. Sadly due to losing my job I had to sell the Fabia. Since then I've had countless cars and 6 Fabias, 7 if you include the vrs lol.

I've driven 2 toledos prior to buying this one, I bought it because 1, it was cheap, it was almost 6 months old when I got it with 28 miles on the clock! I've had it almost 2 months now. 2, I enjoy driving them and have done more miles in toledos than any other car! For me to buy one after it this as I get bored easily, says something about them and how nice they are to drive!

I had the dealer deactivate the cornering fogs, activate the alarm bleep, turn on 1 click locking and ensure the speed lock was activated. I've changed my plates away from the dealer plate and added a square rear plate. Poor photos below of my led sidelights and led number plate lights.

So here is my cherry Red 1.6 tdi 105 itech

Very nice too :)

It makes the Rapid look totally sh!te and cheap. The Toledo looks more classy.

Why the square rear number plate that doesn't fit into the recess?

its a taxi. :) Good cars for the money they are available for :)

Probably will put the taxi license plate next to it.

I looked at a cherry red one, infact I had a test drive in it. Apart from the 17" alloys everything else was the same, it looked good too. My reasons for not picking that colour, I've had a red car more or less the same colour recently and I have an MX-5 in red. Just fancied a change and picked silver. They are good cars apart from just the one grumble which isl getting on my nerves again, the creaking drivers side window rubber seal.

There seems to be some debate on the looks of the Rapid/Toledo.As I have owned both can I have my five penneth's worth on the subject?

My first one was a Toledo S in Reflex silver and ,at the time,I thought it looked superior to the Rapid at both ends particularly the front.I found the Reflex silver to be rather bland and it seemed to attract scratches and scrapes for some reason. When I changed to the Rapid (Denim Blue) I changed for the increased spec but the car has grown on me and I now find it to be generally more businesslike and less fussy than the Toledo.I am in the process now of changing back to a Toledo again mostly for increased spec. After considering everything I think that the best combination would be the Toledo front and the Rapid rear.It is interesting to observe the subtle differences between the two models like the interior door pulls which are straight in the Toledo and right angled in the Rapid.

^^^^^ That's what swung it for me, the incredible amount of extras you get as standard in the Toledo SE. I had priced up the new Fabia to the same spec as the Toledo before buying and I just couldn't justify paying the final price asked, even going via a broker it was still for me a no no. And pricing up somthing like a Ford Fiesta which again was on my shopping list I just came back to the Toledo for great value for money. Not saying the Rapid isn't good value if you look in all the right places, it's just all the extra that's hard to beat.

Rapid rear and Toledo front would be the perfect look :)

No! Toledo front and Toledo end... that's just perfect... :D

No thanks! Much prefer the Rapid rear.

Toledo rear looks very outdated as if they forgot that. No disrespect :)

It looks like they matched it to the EXEO which itself was a re-badged 2004 Audi A4.  No surprise it's a dated look then.

I like the Exeo but I've hardly seen any around. I guess they didn't catch on :(

Normally badge engineering used to take a cheap car and pimp it up e.g. Austin Cambridge / Morris Oxford could be upgraded to Wolseley 16/60, Riley 4/72 or MG Magnette MkIV.

I cant really remember an upper market car (eg AUDI) being badged up as something cheap (eg SEAT).

It didn't fit SEAT's sporty image either (neither does the Toledo TBH)

Don't need one, it's a very rare occurrence. Had it twice in 2 and a half years

Well wear with the new car Juego, the diesel is great in these, 60mpg all day long :)

Yeah I've driven 2 and still have my company one the now. 50+ mpg about town, can't complain at all

Looking good mate, I've just plated up a Spaceback as a taxi (see here http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/365837-now-a-spaceback-owner-new-car-but-not-new-member/ )

You might want to think again about having the auto lock enabled, I'm getting mine disabled the first time I need anything doing to the car.

Sick of pulling up on the rank or at people's houses etc and forgetting to press the unlock button, then have them pulling like mad on the door handles :-(

The fuel economy is awesome though, mines constantly in the 50 something mpg around town, and that's with the climate control on all day as well.

Lol I'm used to it from the other 2 Toledos and my old berlingo so it's a natural habit for me now to press the button when I pull up at houses and pubs etc

Bought some team heko wind deflectors and fitted them yesterday. Just a couple of bits to do and the car will be how I want it!

Looking good, I've just ordered a set of 4 for my spaceback.

Had them on my last few cars and like the look and the practical use of them

Yeah I think they finish the windows off.
