I only ever throw the octavia vRS fuel lines away.  Normally cut at pump, cut in engine bay, and pull through

  • All fitted, all rattles and clonks gone. This Scale suspension is the shizzle. So well made its defintly worth the money. Damping set to halfway (6 clicks out of 12) Up on the ramps stripping everyt

  • Fitted driveshafts and all bolted up. Wheels on and lowered to the floor. All intercooler pipework installed, just front bumper to chop up to fit.   Started it and it runs!!! WHOOOOOOO

It's not worth keeping the connection pieces from the fuel pump and the little block thing in the engine bay in my experience.  Bloody fiddly too.  Having fresh pipe to put over the connections always seemed better.

 

I'll see what I can do.  Never figure out how the 90 degree bits disconnect from the fuel pump housing anyway - same with connection to the block in the engine bay.

Been held up by small bits that i've thrown away or no realised i need.

No rush, but i have a full day on ot tomorrow and not alot is going to get done.

Require:

Metal water pipes to the bulkhead..

Pipe to slave cylinder..

Fuel lines (all 3)..

Also need to make a blank from where i removed the SAI thing of the side of the engine.

 

 

Only need 2 fuel lines, in, return. The EVAP can be binned :)

 

I reused the EVAP line as the return on mine as the 1.4 didn't have a return due to pressure regulator being in the filter.

Ibiza sender (though they are all the same I think, pick the lowest miles), one connector is OUT which goes to the fuel filter. Use a 1.8T fuel filter with 2 connectors on (not 3 as per your Fabia maybe?), line IN and then OUT to the engine bay and connect to the 'IN' side of the fuel rail. Then I connected the old EVAP line to the 'OUT' side on the fuel rail, back at the tank I cut the EVAP line where it went near the sender and joined it to a bit of braided fuel hose and connected that to the 'IN' port on the sender.

 

So you should have this: Sender Out > Filter In > Filter Out > Fuel Rail In > Fuel Rail Out > Sender In

 

Then you can bin the EVAP system from the engine bay (I think its Bowders did a guide, its for the Octy but same stuff different day google 1.8T EVAP delete).

 

I the ripped out the charcoal canister as well and from the filter cap pressure relief valve just ran a pipe to behind the bumper for it to vent fumes.

Should have, its up in the rear bumper near the filler. You wouldn't see it unless you stuck your head in the rear wheel arch with the liner removed :P

 

Calipers look different, and the discs will be 312mm in diameter.

Ah thought they were them blue dildo things in front arch.. Ive never looked at rear end on this fabia. Time will tell.

I only got caliper and carriers. Got them cheap so had a gamble on them being right. Bleed nipples are seized though.

Managed to get the ABS unit swapped over, its hard to make it look good when so many pipes had to be swapped. All put into the correct port, one by one.

My rocker cover gasket came today, but thought i'd hold off fitting it until the engine is going in. As im currently using the engine as a shelf [emoji16]

Grab a picture of the other side of the callipers, can't tell from that angle as the Mk5 ones look similar.

Breaking a TDI.

 

The metal ones from the bulkhead right? Already have a set of them here, now spare :) They are from a TDI but as far as I can tell would work no problem.

Yep tdi are same I picked up mine from a fabia tdi

So is that all 3 of us that went "Can't see how to get this out the bulkhead... *tug* *tug* *snap*... dammit"?

 

Seems so simple once you get the engine out of the way though :)

I couldnt get rubber hoses off the end, so destroyed they with pipe grips [emoji23]

New spark plugs arrived today.. Tempted to get rocker cover done tonight. But i know ill damage it.

No that has an FPR built in to it, hence the fuel return from the filter.

That was the 'correct' one for the FR. So do i need the fabia fuel filter?

Ignore what ECP etc say, they list every possible filter for the Ibiza and say it will fit the FR.
