Featured Replies

Hi, my 2005 (55) Fabia runs well and doesnt miss a beat but it looses coolant, the oil cap is clean with no gunk on...

wondered if anyone could help me?

Thanks

Jake

And just as likely to be a Perished Hose, loose hose clip, corroding radiator, cracked reservoir (filler bottle.)

Leak at the Water Pump, Needs a new Radiator cap etc etc

So do not put off checking out why the coolant is dropping before the cold weather comes and you need a good strength of coolant (anti freeze) in the System.

(do not fill to the Max, it can find its own level.)

So how long have you had the car,

when did it start to lose coolant,

& how much does it lose or how quickly does it drop?

Get your car booked in for a pressure test. Or diy.

I had same fears with mine. Had a full service month ago which included waterpump change.

Then coolant light kept flashing.

Turns out the expansion tank had a slight crack . Pressuretest only cost me a tenner (friendly mechanic)

Fitted new tank and cap in half hr total cost £18. Job done and cured.

Id get it checked asap

Radiator problems are very common once these cars hit 10 years old, look for dripping from the front bumper area on the passenger side, you'll see it best after you've parked the car when the engine's still hot.
