MDI won't play songs bought from iTunes stored on my Android device

Featured Replies

Hello,

When I plug my phone into the dock, the swing radio picks up all the files but won't play songs that I've bought on iTunes. It will play all songs via bluetooth, but only if it is not plugged in. All the files on my phone have the .m4a file extension. If I play via bluetooth I cannot skip tracks or change albums, and it drains the battery on my phone so it is a bit frustrating. Is there anything I can do to make all the files accessible?

Thanks in advance

I don't believe that the Skoda head units understand m4a format. When you stream via Bluetooth, you stream the audio after your device has read the m4a files and converted them to audio. When you play via usb, the file is transferred to the head unit for conversion from data to audio. I don't think there is a way out of this except to convert the m4a files to mp3, but that gives a loss of quality. If it were me I would convert the files to mp3 whilst keeping the originals, and put the mp3 files on USB stick and use that with the mdi.
