buyanewcaronline ?

Featured Replies

about to buy a new skoda yeti 1.2 dsg sel in jungle green but keep looking at the price buyanewcaronline can do the same car , has anyone from briskoda used them the savings were over £1,200 than going with carwow/carfile/dtd.   £500 deposit and pay rest on delivery 14 weeks later.

Not heard of them, but I hadn’t heard of newcardiscount.com either before someone mentioned them on here, they offered a 21% discount and likewise a £500 deposit... just pay the deposit on a credit card and you have nothing to lose.

hi just had a check on newcardiscount and near the same price £200 more

When I bought our Yeti I looked at several on-line broker sites. Discounts of 14% to 18% were the norm, but ONLY for a cash purchase. When I phoned them they said 5% to 6% was the max available if making use of the Skoda finance schemes on offer.

I dealt directly with a garage armed with this information and found I could get them down to about 6%, inc a no cost 36 months service & maintenance contract and low finance package.

The part exchange price offered was strange. They gave me a "Now" price and an "Expected at time of exchange" price. When the time came the price given was higher than they originally quoted.

Ask them if you get the V5 at handover and not 6 months later which could be a problem with insurance

uk skoda dealers supply carfile  /dtd/banco

There are plenty of people willing to pay whatever the dealer asks. Long may they continue.

This means that people like me can pay somewhat less.

I have bought cars on line and over the phone 6 times over the last 20 years. The cars are identical. Warranty and service are the same whatever the buying channel.

I did buy from my local dealer this time....but I knew their internet site and first progressed the purchase through that channel. I did get a little better in the face to face though.

With the 'target' driven business thinking,  dealers can afford to take a loss on a car to an internet sale for the overall 'goal'.

I foresee a marketplace where the importing brands maintain the showroom test fleet and dealers managed used sales and servicing. That way if you go for a 2 hour test drive at your dealer, then buy cheap as possible online, the dealer isn't out fuel, wear and wages. The brand has to bear the cost of the promotion in you driving the car, not the 'dealer'.

There will be fewer retailers and they will be bigger. Online sales for a commodity item will grow and cars will become or already are commodity items if you know the spec you want.

The model I guess I see is not dis-similar to apple's go into store, look, play, go home order online...

As to online brokers who's used who or what, well there are going to be loads popping up. I get emails offering their services and promote monthly.

What I don't get is, if I go to the same dealers supplying these internet sites who often pay the internet site for the sale and pitch, "I'll refer you a briskoda member for free, just give them a good price and cup of tea...". Well I get shrugs and not interested... I guess I don't wear the right %nylon suit or something.

As mentioned above, I'd use my CC for anything you don't fully trust and read the small print twice! Who are you paying the broker or the dealer, who is the sale between etc.

^^^^ v interesting as I have not heard of online dealing in Australia ......I enthusiastically stand to be corrected.

I DO know that you can't play dealers off when in the market for a Subaru in Oz.......it seems Subaru Au determines that.

Bought mine from UK Car Discount & saved loads.  £500 deposit, delivered by appointment on trailer (5miles on clock), checked car thoroughly before paying (absolutely not rushed).  Had a

problem with electric seat later but no problem getting fixed.  Later a problem with front badge & supplying garage sent me two in the post.

So I am happy with the deal.

I've ordered a yeti through BuyANewCar because theirs was the best price I could find. Found them very helpful and responsive so far, and from research I did they seem pretty sound. It's a trading name for SonnAuto, as I understand it they are dealers for Skoda amongst others, so not a broker. If you pay deposit on CC, (they don't charge a surplus --as others do), then you are protected by distance selling laws. Local dealer came nowhere near their price.

if you get the V5 on the ask if you are the first registered owner, a few years ago a few brokers had to register the car to themselves for a few days before they could sell it on if I remember correct and people who thought they were getting a brand new car were in fact the 2nd owner so the car was in effect 2nd hand

just ask the question

Is this a new trend, or has it been common for a while?.

We don't even have any speculation about adopting it, so I'm surprised.

How much do you think being the second owner devalues the car ?

Our Pug was a demonstrator but we are the first owner in the documentation.

OK it does make some difference but...... The main thing to be aware of is If you are the first owner many insurance companies will replace the vehicle with a brand new one including options etc if it is totalled or stolen and not recovered.

If you are the second owner they will give you current "Book Value" which will be substantially less than you paid and will not take any options into account. So if you buy a pre-registered or ex demo car it's worth checking your insurance policy to see what their T&C's are!

Depends on how old the car is when you sell it, if you keep it 3+ years then I would say nothing at all.

Good point, surely this is a prime example where GAP insurance would be beneficial?
