I have updated my Amundsen from 0435 to a newer version which can be found on the net. I don't want to share the link here to avoid deletion but I will kindly PM it together with the instructions.

VCDS oder VAS wird für den letzten Schritt der Aktualisierung benötigt (um die Änderung der SW-Version zu bestätigen und einige Fehlercodes zu löschen).

Dieses Update ist für MIB1 Amundsen und Bolero geeignet und kann einige Probleme lösen (Klangqualität, UKW-Empfang, Grafik, Touchscreen).

In meinem Fall (0435 Amundsen mit Kanton) ist mir folgendes aufgefallen:

- viel bessere Wiedergabequalität (Decodierung) von MP3-Dateien mit niedrigerer Bitrate (jetzt ist es schwer, den Unterschied zwischen 192 und 320 kbps zu erkennen)

- etwas Änderung der EQ-Frequenzen (etwas tiefere Bässe / klarere Höhen)

- spürbarer Höhengewinn (jetzt +6 ist wie vorher +9)

- etwas Gewinn an maximaler Lautstärke ohne automatische Bassbegrenzung

- besserer Shuffle-Wiedergabealgorithmus bei Hunderten von MP3-Dateien im selben Ordner (meiner wiederholt die gleichen 40-50 MP3-Dateien)

- besserer (aber immer noch nicht perfekter) Zugriff der SD-Karte beim Start (gelegentlich schaltet die HU noch auf CD/Radio)

Ich höre nie Radio, kann also nichts über den UKW-Empfang sagen. :)

UPDATE ERFOLGT AUF EIGENE GEFAHR!!!

Hi, I hope someone can help. My wife's mk3 Octavia won't play audio sat nav directions, but her sat nav card works fine in MY mk3 Octavia with all directions loud and clear. She also doesn't have sat nav option on her multifunction display. Maybe a firmware update might help, although I'll be honest and don't have a clue how I would do this! Hi,

I know my system is quite far behind so do I need to do the updates in between my current system and the newest version or can I jump straight to the latest version.

The update sounds like that on my Columbus (generally better sound) although things started to rattle more in the doors afterwards :think:
