Hoping for some help please:

1) Given the system on the vRS is keyless, what is the actual foldout metal key for? Can't find anywhere on the car that takes the key.

2) My rear wiper on the hatch needs adjusting. When in use, the arc of the wiper goes too far, so the wiper actual hits the body of the car. i.e. Comes into contact with the paintwork. Anyone else have this? Is it an easy fix, or do I have to take it to a dealer?

1) - There is a plastic cover on the drivers door handle that you can remove and use the key to unlock the car in case of emergencies

2) - I would take it back to the dealer if it is a new car and let them do it

1. Usually there will still be an key slot ignition on the steering column. Probably covered over. Have to have one encase keyless fails.

2 how flat does the wiper sit in its arked position. Mine is flat parallel to bottom of glass. I personally let the dealer fix this. As it should be under warrenty

Thanks for your quick replies. I'll have to go looking for the key slot, and I'll let the dealer fix the wiper. The car is only 2 weeks old. Just loving it so far.

There isn't a key slot ignition on the steering column AFAIK if you have KESSY

If you have Kessy the start button is where the ignition key would go. Only other thing the key is required for is passenger airbag deactivation and unlocking the dsg box in a breakdown

Learn something new even ford and bmw still have key slots under the stop start buttons

There is no key slot because you don't need it to start the car if Kessy isn't working. There is another chip in the key (like the ones used for factory immobilizers on lots of cars) that is detected when pressing the button with your key.

Yep I didn't mention that as you had that covered in another post

Is the wiper pivot boss a spigot? If so remove said wiper and rotate a few spigots to adjust it's position. That's the simplest quickest fix without going in depth and further I.e wiper motor replacement.

I'd let the dealer do it, too easy to scratch something
