vRS Rear Parking Sensors

Featured Replies

Hi guys!

I have a 2010 vrs estate with factory fitted rear parking sensors. I've had the car second hand for a couple of years now and the sensors have always worked fine - that was until I was at the Trafford Centre last night! Put the car into reverse, started heading backward - I was getting quite close to the car behind and no beeping. At this point I realised the sensors weren't on, so slammed on and when I got out, I was about 2 inches off the car behind - close call, problem with relying on modern tech!

Anyway just wondering if anyone has an experience or similar issues with their sensors. Done the obvious: Checked fuses; Checked the reversing light is coming on in reverse gear; Even checked the rear-windscreen wiper comes on when the fronts are on. I've had a look externally and the sensors do not appear to have any damage.

Any help / pointers would be much appreciate,

Thanks Pete

Hi I got the same prob with my 1.9TDi level 3 estate 2011. Mine gives a long beep, shows car on screen goes back to radio and nothing. Code reader gave " Drive Batt Voltage low, static signal too small". I cleared this fault code and for a day all worked OK but fault back again.

The drive batt voltage I understand refers to main battery being under the weather and may also be thee reason for another annoying fault the LED in drivers door fails to flashwhen alarm armed. My battery certainly indicates that is about 75% capacity and awaiting a new one.

Will post if battery cures probs.

I will have a look when i go out in a min.. the problem may be resolved now though as the original post was 10 months ago :)

I was asking for me. For today,

But cancel that because it is resolved by magic and now the passenger window has stopped working.

So still on the search for where there is a controller or some connections with corrosion most likely.
