Damo's New Runaround

Featured Replies

Ok, I know its not a Skoda but bear with...

Back story is I recently sold my Octy VRS, and have been running around in the Clio I bought for my daughter.

However, I wanted something more comfy, well specced and better MPG.

I also wanted a change from VAG cars, as they are so similar, they bore me at the minute tbh.

Working in the Steel Industry (you may be aware how times are hard in this field) meant I didn't want to spend a fortune on a car, so I set myself a small budget of cash from my VRS sale and px the Clio.

I saw this car online at my local dealer where I got the Clio from, and went for a test drive.

Worked out a fantastic deal on PX, and only a few grand on top, with a 12 month Platinum warranty thrown in and the deal was done.

Anyway, the car.

Its a Megan Dynamique Coupe TomTom with the following Spec:-

1.5 Dci 110bhp

Metallic Cayenne Orange

40k with FSH

Electric windows

Electric Mirrors (Heated)

Multi function steering wheel

Sat Nav (Obviously as the model suggests)

Cruise Control and Speed Limiter

Traction Control

A/C

CD/IPOD/AUX with 4x15W Speakers

Keyless entry

6 Speed Box

Huge Boot with full size spare

It is a lovely place to be in the cockpit, with its LED displays.

Seats are really comfy after the poor VRS ones.

Drives very nice, but you do need to work the revs as the turbo takes a while to spool at low revs.

Very comfy though and getting decent MPG (58 at present, but not done any decent runs yet)

Tax was only £30 for the year too :)

It still feels very tight, like a new car and has obviously been looked after.

Im very happy with it.

Couple of pics of it as it is now

Not many plans for it as yet, but is does need a full machine polish (hopefully by someone I have been trying to get to do it off this site) or if not, I may have a go myself with my DA, as the previous owner must have liked using the local car wash going by the swirls.

The colour will look awesome in the sun Im sure, when the swirls are gone

I'll update as and when I do anything

Thanks for reading

Oh yes, forgot to add

Ignore the mats, they are temporary until my new ones arrive :D

Interesting choice, it should polish up nicely :)

Good luck.

Oooghhhh I quite like that

Love the colour :)

One of the lads at work has one of these. He loves it and it handles very well! Oh, and it does about 6 million miles on a tank of fuel when he takes it steady.

It will come up very well when machine polished, it's a cracking colour!

Very nice Damo - i like the look of that....

As has been said already - gorgeous colour too; i expect that will polish up just lovely.

Once polished and waxed i reckon you will be able to achieve a great wet look, especially with the curves and lines on the bodywork styling

If you need any help or input on the detailing stuff - just shout mate

Nice, I had the previous shape Megane with a 1.5 dci (dunno if it's the same engine) it motored along quite nicely while costing pennies to run. Any pictures of the dash?

I will take some tomorrow fella.

If i do it at night it will just be a blur

Nice car Damo.

Modern Renaults are really very nice cars IMHO. One of my colleagues does a 90 mile round trip commute in his 61 plate Dynamique TomTom, averages in the 60s mpg wise he says, and in 85k miles its never gone wrong.

Enjoy it.

Very nice, I had one as a courtesy car once and surprised how well they are screwed together and so much more refined compared to my Skoda. Mine had a speed limiter which you could set which I really liked.

It really does feel well built, and this also has the cruise control and speed limiter

Very nice Damo the wife has ordered a Renault Kadjar ,top spec  ,we were very impressed as we drove every  alternative, trouble is though six months waiting list, we ordered in October on launch day, (expected Dec early Jan ) at time of ordering, so we sold her IX35 and now shes driving around in my R36 . I was going to comment on the mats but you beat me to it kadjar-fd-fc.jpg

Nice, I like the interior, and the steering wheel, nice chunky wheel always makes a good difference. Tempted with a remap or leaving it stock?

Stock mate... Probably :D

I'll likely change it again at Xmas, so don't want to spend much on it

  • 2 months later...

Done anything else with this Swirl removal/D/A wise mate?

When I saw a notification on here I half expected it to be your car that had moved across town to Damo's house!
