Ste's Sunday Shine - Auto Perfection Evolve Hybrid Wax

Featured Replies

Hi All,

Well - a nice Sunday detailing day planned with my good friend Alan. I made an early start on the Seat Exeo before Alan turned up as the hope was that both .:R36's might get detailed in the afternoon..... but alas the chauffeuring of the kids between parties killed that idea.

A typical foam, rinse and wash routine, but to elaborate on detailing products used:-

Summary:-
- Foamed with AD foam lance using KKD Blizzard Peppermint foam
- Wheels with Auto Finesse Revolutions using Daytona Speedmaster & Swissvax wheel brush plus WoWo wheel mitt
- Rinse
- Wheel arches foamed & fully rinsed with underbody lance attachment.
- Wash with LE Blue Sheep wash mitt and Incredipad wash pad plus Britemax Cleanmax Shampoo
- Rinse
- Spray with Last Touch diluted weak mix (rinse/drying aid)
- Dry with Definitive Wax Drying towel and air blower
- Door shuts, exhausts and alloys: wipedown with Sonax BSD using Dark Blue BOA MF's
- Tyres with Gtechniq T1 Tyre & Trim
- Windows Exterior topped with Sonax BSD using Light Blue BOA MF's.
- Waxed with Auto Perfection Evolve (15min cure time; allowed after application to the whole car)
- Wax applied with Auto-Finesse Handi-puck+80mm black wax pad; buffed with CarPro 500gsm Grey BOA
- Final wipedown and buff using the WaxPack Green BOA MF's.

New products today:

Microfibre madness Incredipad:
Very nice to use but not as large as the Dooka XL.
No complaints - its in the washing machine now - so i will see how robust it is.

Auto Perfection Evolve:-
Extremely please with the results on this one. As Arron had promised - just as easy as Intensify show wax
to use and apply etc. All the key properties on the Intensify winning formula mixed into this Winter Hybrid.
The wax spreads very thin indeed..... even with these two cars today the container hardly seems touched.
A long cure time was expected, and with panel temps measured at 4degC.... this was certainly the case.
The whole car was waxed and whilst curing Alan hoovered the interior of the R36; then finally wax was buffed.

I think the results are clear to see - although the low winter light made for tricky pictures later on.

I would have no reservations at all in recommending this wax for you chaps - another AP winner.

Many thanks to Alan for great company on the day and also lunch and beers afterwards - top day all in all

Looks awesome mate as ever. Maybe my next purchase

Top job buddy!

Glad the Hybrid wax followed suit to Intensify! The gloss levels on both cars looks stunning, I bet Alan was pleased!

Glad you reviewed the incredipad too, been looking at one myself!

How do you find the karcher attachment? Good for wheel arches etc?

Thanks for the comment Sean....

I'm a big AP fan, and i know Alan, Karl, Neil and Shaun love Intensify Show Wax as well.

Most of the guys have already purchased Evolve Hybrid as their winter wax.

I simply havent read a bad review on these products - so enjoy!

Thanks Karl.

I've been using the Karcher attachment with some success for quite a while;

its a great help in and around the wheel arches, side skirts, alloys etc.

It was just today - with Alan enjoying using it - he was very impressed and wanted the link.

I think there is an official Karcher version but 2 or 3 times the price. Seems excessive.

cheers,

Ste.

I'll look into getting one of those as I use the karcher K4 washer to would be perfect! Thanks for the link!

Both cars are looking great. Slightly off topic, the packaging on the auto perfection is bugging me as it looks like a blatant auto finesse rip off lol

Thanks for the comment Mark.

I personally hadnt noticed the AF comparison; but then i'm not the biggest AF user to be fair.

I'm just glad that AP listened to Shaun and myself and they ditched the cheap metal tubs;

and have now moved to the glass tubs which are easier to use, have a bit more weight

and grip to them - IMO.

At the end of the day - i don't get too attracted by the design on the label - as long as the product works!

Yes - i imagine it should work fine on your setup Karl.

As always feel free to borrow it and try before you spend any cash.

Looks great, Ste. Especially for a durable winter wax. The ease of use has a massive appeal to me, waxing can be such a pleasure with the right product. I am certainly looking forward to getting my sample and cracking on with it. Hopefully next weekend!

There have been some busy little bees on here today. Excellent results by all. A very good day on the forum today with a lot of interesting reading done.

Keep up the good work Ste!!

Appreciated buddy. Well overdue a visit to the detailing den, if you have any spare time through the week I'll pop over. Still need to organise a few beers too!

Just got in went to Julian's  for some coding, my rear sensors as you know aren't as load as the fronts after module change, still dealer wanted 428, I got one from ebay for 35 and fitted myself so not too bad. Great to catch up and have a good detailing day for a change, was raining earlier and I had to do chauffeuring duties too as Sarah's car now not due till mid March .Low levels do not do justice to the shine, Alex's looked great too. A bit parky outside though, thanks for lance link, much cheaper than karchers  Thanks again Ste

Wont have to wait long Id imagine !  :rain:   :dull:

Always a pleasure Alan..... anytime buddy. Indeed - the cars looked great, just didnt come through in the pics.

The fact we have my neighbours round and his mate looking over the cars - the cars were looking great!!  :sun:

BTW - sent you a link on the rear PDC volume sensor issue; seems a few have seen this.

Not sure if Julian was coding address 10 or if its different etc. Might help....

Thanks for the comment though - good to have you posting in the detailing section

He went all through that, my fronts are at 4 and loud and the rears you can turn on to 7 maximum which he did, on his S3 Audi you can do it from maxidot apparently

now this looks a nice wax! great finish on all the cars there. Thanks again Ste for your continued insight and reviews. really do make this forum a good place to be.

Great job done there , just love R36s

Thanks for the comment Ben. It is good to know you guys enjoy reading the write-ups

No rain overnight; but a heavy dew and mist/fog in our area.

heavy beading dwelled up about 40mph on the drive in and by the time

i was at work the car was pretty much blown dry by the air flow.

Looking at the beads formed whilst driving - this might be a good wax indeed! ;)

Really impressed with how this AP hybrid wax is performing so far. 3 days commute to work;

plus some excursions to the post office mid-day etc and the Exeo still looks soooo shiny & clean.

The water behaviour is superb, beading is top drawer and i really cant wait to get a second coat applied!
