bluetooth/ phone failure

Featured Replies

Wife has a 2l diesel yeti 4x4 very happy but we've had two issues with it, 1st we live on a farm and despite never having had any issues with anything else, mice have eaten the underside of the soundproof engine cover.... its been to the dealers sinece and no apparent ill effects however dealer had seen it before? maybe tastes nice to mice?

More importantly the bluetooth has now packed up it keeps trying constantly to connect to the wifes phone even if not in the car, can't stop it doing so so can't try another phone, but phone works on other (parott) system in landrover) so assume its car... no error code, no obvious way to reset or stop it, is it software? wiring fault? dealer job?

any help appreciated! wondered if it was connected to 1st issue but no further mouse damage and worked for 5 months since!

regards

Adam

Welcome to the forum!

Try pulling the radio fuse in the fuse box in the engine compartment, think its fuse 8, to create a reboot of the radio - needs the fuse out for about 1 min - it might work, who knows, good luck!

Can't help with the Bluetooth but my previous car had to have a brake pipe replaced because it had been chewed by rats. Fortunately picked up during work for something else so no immediate safety risk. Dealer said they had seen several cases of this and it was believed that there was something in the specific compound used for those hoses that was attractive to rats because it seemed to be a problem limited to certain models. So you could be right - perhaps it does taste nice to mice!

Re Bluetooth - try unpairing then pair again; it's worked for me.

For me at least, when it comes to tech, inexplicable stuff happens.
