Cats problem

Our dogs deter any cats.. no sure if they (the local cats) are aware yet but the one we just took in (3 years old, owner dying, needed a new home and we had space for 1 more) is a cat eater. Not since she's been here though.

Cats can be controlled, a cattery or the garden can be made secure quite easily if the fences are standard issue 6ft high panels. Stops all the heartache when they get run over too.

Not sure about the 6' fence, my neighbours huge Tom cat just seems to run up his solid planking 7' wooden gate. On the plus side it doesn't crap in my garden, and since it arrived neither do any of the other cats in the area. It's a feline thug!

Any responsible cat owner will or should have insurance cover, speak to the owners to ascertain this and provide proof of the damage to the car.

If there's no insurance in place then non damaging traps can be purchased easily to harmlessly catch the cat.

Spend a few minutes looking at a decent map and pick a spot at least 30 miles away to drop off the cat. This spot should ideally have at least a river( or canal), an A road, and motorway between its old home and new roaming / bird killing area.

Problem gone, it won't find its way back.

This is all purely hypothetical of course, the obvious answer is that all cats should be kept under control by their owners.

I can't imagine my neighbours being too chuffed if our Yorkshire terrier kept jumping onto the bonnet of their car. Or the council for that matter and dog warden.

Can't beat a good old debate about moggies at this time of day to ruin your Sunday!

Excuse me while I go and pick those 2 turds up that are neatly curled on my gravel drive just behind my Os back wheel.

You have to have wire mesh, angled inwards, at the top to stop the cat getting out.

Have you seen the price of chicken mesh these days...

It's a cat for God's sake. Keep them in the house.

They are the only land based feral animal species in the uk that kill for fun and not hunger/ necessity.

Or that  :D

The best defence against cats is..... Buy a cat.

Yep this,

We had problems for years, with cat mess, shed roof ripped, and one cat that liked to try and get fish from my pond.

I hated cats.

Then one skinny black stray with half its fur missing kept hiding under my trailer on the garden to get out of the weather. Not liking to see any animal suffer we'd put some food out and it would only come and get the food when we went back in doors.

Two years later it's sat on the sofa with me watching TV.

But we no longer have problems with other cats on the garden, :)

My two Yorkshire terriers ( that are confined to my home boundaries) would have a serious problem with this... Plus, I don't want a cat.

When I take my dogs for a walk I take bags with me and pick up their dirt.

I properly hate cats. I just find them disgusting, unhygienic and annoying. Not helped by the fact that im also allergic.

I like cars. I like my car.

Tbf, if the same cat kept on damaging my car, it'd disappear one day and nobody would have a clue where it went..

What about the two-legged chinless wonders who delight in taking potshots at the peasants . .

 . . and pheasants ?

It could be argued that they aren't feral.

Let's keep this thread on track please

Does he sit on cars though?

Why would you put a dog in an oven?

Cos it's to big for the Micro wave  :notme:

At least it's not people letting there dog (whilst on a lead) **** up your car.

Not that I'm sure it's of much comfort to you. Still brings in a nice smell sometimes when you turn the heater on!

Oh and when you make comment - apart from the abuse it's normally along the lines of it's only a car what is your problem.

So to painfully agree with silver1011 - it's the owners, but chances are they don't care - probably would let their kids do this too!

My parents had a dog and still had cat problems. Then one day, they picked up and took home an old ex feral cat they'd tamed.Dad made it a kennel to live outside ,as despite love it was not totally happy inside. Then the noise started. Those cats that came out at night met our rescue cat ( who was a very large TOM) ,who saw our property as his. We watches one night as Tom simply walked out of his kennel and by force of noise and body made several cats run .
