Update time:

for Milltek to ship a full system to Greece it will (I assume this is dp + sports cat +cat back) costs

Dave,

GR_Octavia will answer since his "our contact" for this...

The costs for shipping was as expected so we have calculated in our overall cost for each full system.

I' ll check with him ...

BTW, what is the procedure to proceed in this?

We have definetely above 10 to get for sure 20%?

...Cheers,

At the moment we have 11 items which qualifies us for the 20%. However I do need to clarify with Disco whether he can get the sports cat for the A4.

I also need to clarify which sports cat is required as I think Milltek do a 200 and a 100 cel cat. Can you find this out please.

I personally won't be in a position to buy until mid December. What sort of timescales does everyone else have in mind?

I believe Disco to be paid in full upfront. Those wanting fitting can pay on day of fitting.

Any there questions peeps would like me to ask Disco?

Cheers.

Adrian.

Having had the complete turbo back system fitted prior to my car going to Jabba - I can confirm it is a great improvement over standard -- the cars revs much easier and pick up is better from lower down the rev range == well worth the cost -- although make sure you bin the rather cheap clamps that are supplied!!

Hi

Might be interested if the cat back will fit on the vRS Combi

Should have some overtime in December so December would be a good time :)

Darren,

I don't know whether the cat back system will fit the estate; I'm not sure whether the estate has the same hanging points or whehter it is slightly longer at the rear.

If this is the case may I suggest an alternative for you......the Milltek down pipe and sports cat are the same and then a Powerflow cat back.

The dp and sports cat will give you the most benefit...better response and good torque gains....the Powerflow is custom made so the estate should be no problem.

With the 20% discount the dp and sport cats is working out around

So, Loukas, ckosm and me are ready and we have to check about the A4 sports cat (200cel).

Have we qualified for the 20% discount to close the group buy and then arrange a timescale to get the products (let's say until end of December). How can this be done, I mean the whole procedure. Do we have to contact directly Disco?

Ok.........for this to work I need all those in the group buy to PM me with:

your full name

what you want

delivery address

I'll then pass these details onto Disco. If you want fitting you can pay on the day of fitting but otherwise Disco requires all monies upfront. I will clarify how this is to be done (credit card I guess).

Disco may be a bit preoccupied at the moment having just become a Dad so response may be a bit slow. I will contact Disco with the details now with a view to getting all information on payments, delivery times, delivery addresses, prices etc ready for mid/end of December.

Is this ok with everyone?

I'll will be using PM from anymore liason on this so please check your PM account regualarly.

Cheers.

Adrian.

Dave,

My question is for the Hi flow cat made for the Octavia full system.

I think by default is 200cpi. But i have seen that 100cpi also exist? or not.

Any info for the 100cpi cat (as far as emmisions is concern)?

If the 100cpi is not available OK then for the 200cpi.....

Any of you guys with 100cpi???

(was my PM with the info OK?)

Rgds,

Any news?

Any news?

Not yet.......as I said previously I won't be able to do anything until the beginning of December as I'm on holiday for the next 3 weeks.

Also Disco is AWOL due to being a new parent.

There's another "avenue" I want to explore as well so hang on in there.

Cheers.

Adrian.

p.s did you find out whether the sports cat for the Audi was to be a 200 or 100CEL?

When I got mine I was told by Milltek that they replaced the 100 cpsi CAT by the 200 cpsi version of their Sports CAT to meet emission requirements of European (and US regs., I think).

Right, I'm back from my hols now....

....so what do you guys want to do about this?

Some news from AmD....

"The A4 cat would be

Adrian,

I'll check with the guys here for the final number of orders (since some have fitted custom systems) and I'll let you know.

The final pricing for the cat back for VRS and DP&sports cat is ???? from AmD??

(please review the current quotation)

To calculate the shipping cost you need something more than the city? (Athens).

  • Author

Hi Loukas,

prices are per current quotes....and a more exact address than Athens would be preferable. You can PM me the details.

Remember if we don't have 11 or more items then we won't qualify for the 20%. I think some of the guys here would drop out if this was the case.....something to be aware of.

Cheers.

Adrian.

Update:

we're down 2 items!

So no 20% discount at the moment.....sounds like a "couple" of our Greek Briskodians have decided on other paths as well.

No worries.

I need confirmation (Loukas can you check on "your" side - thanks) that this is "truly dead".... but in the meantime thanks for all those who expressed an interest.

Cheers.

Adrian.

Unfortunately we're now not in a position to qualify for the 20% discount as we have "lost" 4 items so, I am going to "close down" this group buy attempt.

Thanks for all those who expressed an interest. I may try to resurect this again sometime next year, pending interest.

Cheers.

Adrian.

Adrian,

The results from us here are not so good...

I'm the only one left....

It seams that others where in a hurry a month ago and went custom 70DP stock cat 63 cat back for a good price..

However the -20% isnt feasible so i'll go custom too next year.

Thanks for your efforts...

Yep, custom is my way forward too. I've come to understand that the Milltek system does not fit underneath a 4x4, while the Dutch EPS custom exhaust company is familiar with the 4x4 lay-out and its kink in the mid-section. Plus I have a friend whom they own a favour... :D

Thanks Loukas!

Well we had to try and get a group buy going.........you win some you lose someone.....would have been nice to have sorted an European Group buy though.

Hope all goes well with the custom exhaust route and lets up know the results.

I've got Jabba to source and fit the Milltek sports dp/cat for me.....hopefullynext week.

Mattijs.....good piece of info regarding Milltek fitment for the 4x4. I guess the dp and cat is ok but the cat back system is different.

Cheers.

Adrian.

That's right, Adrian - the Milltek downpipe could still form part of a hybrid solution, as it forms an elegant solution to MOT demands and will fit in a 4x4 as well.

The mid-section and backbox are the ones that won't fit and would need custom replacements. EPS in Holland have a nice stainless steel solution, with a backbox of choice, allowing you to select one with the right music to your ears... I'll probably do business with them if my end-of-year bonus for 2004 is any good. :D

BTW, the guys at EPS told my friend - who was kind enough to inform specifically for the 4x4 - that increasing the diameter would not be of much help. It's straightening out the current "kinked" exhaust trajectory that would stand me the biggest gains in hp. Does this ring a bell?

I guess this is why the Milltek dp give good results......it's a much "smooth" design. Who in the hell designed the stock dp.....looks a complete mess....but I suppose it does it's job.

I wonder if the combi exhaust system is longer and hence some longer straight bits? Would explain partially why Denis has good good figures from his remap.

lol

I agree with you Adrian. Look at the difference between the stock dp and the one I have now:

dp1.jpg

I decided to go to a custom made dp (70mm) + cat back (63mm) system due to the much lower cost. And I am really very satisfied ....

Thanks anyway for your effort to organize this European group buy, maybe next time ... (we had a successful European group buy with the gaskets from Ade, remember? )

Mmm, that looks very nice...
