Milltek Exhaust Group Buy

Featured Replies

Would anyone be interested in a group on a Milltek dp and sports cat or cat back system or the whole system?

Haven't done anything yet just trying to gauge interest but you know me......wheelin 'n dealin.;)

Cheers.

Adrian.

Adrian - I just think you have an addiction to organising group buys, for which, thankfully, there is no cure.

PS: How would Milltek work with a diesel? - not that I can afford it. :(

Quite possibly a cat-back system.

After 40k+ miles the original exhaust is probably not at it's best anyway.

I wouldn't bother with just doing the CAT back section unless you are into aesthetics that much. The Turbo back system is the only way to go as it frees up the whole power delivery with a 2.5 inch diameter system throughout and hi-flow 200 cpsi CAT. It has proved to add around 10 bhp and 25 lbf.ft of torque in practice (that was with an ABD CAI as well). With just the CAT back I doubt there would be more than 2-3 bhp in it and you have to fit a pipe adaptor from the old CAT to the new 2.5 inch system.

Chris

And the RRP on both options is?

Nooooooooo....must.....resist...

Brakes first, then suspension...AFTER Christmas :D

(But before next years apparent multitude of meets! :drive: )

It IS better to change the whole lot BUT at round

Having had a full miltek on mine now for a few months, both before and after being jabba'd. I can recommend it.

if you can afford the whole system I would get that because even if your car is not remapped there was a definate improvement in power delivery.

My local tyre place fitted it for me in about 45 mins. it took longer to get the old one off than fit the new.

Wonder if Milltek are gonna do a system for the Fab vRS! :p

Manny has hit the nail on the head.......I would have gone for the full system but it's expensive hence my suggestion to get the cat back first and then the dp and sports cat.

I think I actually made a mistake on the cat back system price.....I think it's closer to

I am getting a back box from LongLife exhausts it is made to measure and while there are claims to improved power and consumption (Seems a bit of a tall story), all I want is an improved sound and appearance. I for one don't like the standard Octagonal one on the vRS. I am getting a Boxter style oval exit and the cost sir?

I am interested in the miltek system have spoken to a local tuning company(who are also supplying bailey dv30 bov

The dp and sports cat is designed to go with the cat systems.....so I reckon that's a load of old tosh.

Quite a few Briskodians have the complete system fitted and have remark on the difference it makes. If you can feel a difference then it must produce some good figures. I can only think of one person who potentially is running more than 250 bhp.

Also due to the reduced back pressure the turbo is allowed to spoin quikcer so you'll get a better response.

Was that

Not sure

think that may have been just downpipe and sports cat for

The Milltek complete system is 2.5'' external diameter...the internal diameter is about 3mm less but it's bigger than standard...not sure what that is either.

I find it strange that they should say its only worth it if you have 250bhp...your talking about and IHI conversation or a ported head for that.. and that's even before the exhaust.

Where abouts are you?

Luton.

Just looking at amd site.

We fit Milltek stainless steel exhausts to PD Golf etc when doing our tuning packages, also Milltek do a Decat downpipe for the PD engine as its not legal requirement to have one. They do the standard 'discreet' pipes which follow the standard layout or we fit the twin pipe exit with a four motion rear valance so the tailpipe exits traditionally.

We are gathering numbers for Fabia vRS if we get enough Milltek will produce a system for us.

Techie,

how much extra power does the Milltek system release on the PD Golfs?

Im not sure on its own as we usually do it together with a remap and downpipe. Thats usually around 190 bhp I think from a 130.

Well here's AmD response:

"Hi Adrian,

We do not normally give discounts to clubs but we are willing to help you organise a group buy.

The Octavia vRS System retails at

Reasonably encouraging - could be up to 20% off ... and it doesn't say you have to include fitting.

For reference Adrian and I have compared mounting points and exhaust routing under the cars and I can say pretty much for sure his exhaust would fit on my car, which is an SLX. I guess the diesels will be different of course, but if you have a 1.8T I think you'll be OK with the vRS exhaust.

I'm interested if we can get 10.

put me down for two orders.

;)

ive had a cat back system fitted, custom built by the boys at ASCAR sheffield.2.5inch stainless to 6x4 oval well pleased with result engine seems to be a tad smoother and the sound well real grunty with a definate growl.this is the first octy they have done, guy called matt said had a few seats in.this guy realley knew his stuff cost

Speednut, just to redress the balance a little, this is what I said in theis thread http://www.briskoda.net/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=386&highlight=stainless

"I contacted Longlife for a system for my V6 2.6 Vectra.

They gave a competitive quote but were unable to fit me in at the main office near Bath, but sugested that I contact their Sheffield Franchise ( ASCAR - 12 Miles from me). Great I thought, just what I needed.

So I duly parted company with

Adrian good morning,

We are 2-3 Octaviars (plus an Audi A4 owner) here in Athens interested in the Milltek dp+cat+catback. Can we also be included in the group buy?

Obviously AMD will have to ship the parts to Athens, a quite high cost, so we would be interested in the case we can get the 20% discount at least.
