Ahaha. Great.

I think if you dont get excited i think you're in the wrong hobby arent ya haha. Maybe knitting or some **** :D

I 'think' I may have secured permission from the 'Financial Powers' to go and look at a Triumph Daytona tomorrow.  Purely as a toy you understand to keep me from being bored.  I may have sort of promised to have the bathroom done as part of the deal but if the bike comes first who knows what will happen after. :notme::D

Ahaha. Sounds like you need to be careful or it might very well be just a 'look' ;):D.

Which Daytona mate? The black one you linked to me a week or so back or a different one?

Is it the one at SD motorcycles mate?

I can tell you about about the place if it is...

Ooh I designed a load of stuff on that there bike Chris, that should put you off lol

you designed? eh? haha

Yop worked for a supplier into triumph for a few years. Great fun.

Yes it is Oli and I suppose you are going to put me off now!

Is there anything I should be aware of Mad?  Other than the rectifer issues.

Nah engine is bullet proof just ensure the throttle Bodies are kept balanced.

I'm not going to put you off mate, but yanno what im like, id rather say it how it is. The guy there is genuinely sound, speaks it how it is, has a genuine interest in bikes and hes just bought the unit next to his. He cleans all bikes upon delivery, so the worst of the crap is taken off. As far as i can gather he buys them from auction, PX's that dealers arent interested in etc.

I went to see a Blackbird towards the end of last summer, and a Tuono just a few weeks ago which i may of mentioned?... this one..

Neither of which were tidy enough for my liking despite looking good on the pics. Just a little rough around the edges.

Its not a glossy dealers.. it literally is a unit around the back of an estate. Which is grand, if the bike is what you want.

I'm not saying this to put you off Chris, but i would like to tell you what i know before you jump on and take the time to see it, its not a bad place either. Maybe perfect for a second bike at the right money, it depends what you're after.

That Triumph was there when i went i think,  im sure i remember seeing it, but i didnt look close enough. I would of done if i knew you were interested.

Im only 45 mins or so away from the place, im not sure how far you are away.. but if you'd like me to go and snout it out n have a proper look before you get seriously interested and take the time out, i dont mind at all mate. Just let me know.

Ta for the heads up Oli.  I am planning on going over there tomorrow but as it will be the first one I look at I won't be making any rash decisions.  If it is tidy and the money is ok I will consider it.  It is a bit high on miles and I have seen them with less miles but maybe on an 02 istead of 07 plate.  If I were to buy it the miles would not go up that much as it will be a second bike and used less than the TEX so the later plate should help it keep some value maybe.

No worries mate. Id just like to tell you what i know before you go to all the effort.

It might be a stunner, beyond your expectations and just fit the bill. But both times i went i found him polishing shiney bitd with silicone spray for the pictures, so it looks lovely. Look beyond that when i arrived and found muddy clutch fluid, cracked headlights, chips, imperfections n etc etc

The Triumph may very well be different, but you never know till you get there eh haha. Take a look at the Tuono if you go, youll see what i mean haha.

All the best mate. I hope it is brilliant :). It well could be!

Have you seen it Christopher? :):D

Change of plan.  Now reverting to plan B whatever that is!

So no we didn't bother.  Granted it does look good enough in the pictures but is it far cheaper than any others out there and that has to be for a reason.  There is an 02 plate one in Donny but also there is a Fireblade quite near me that looks to have been cherished by someone of an age who care.  I would rather have the triple engine than an in line four but a Blade can be quite a lot of fun and that is basically what toys are for.

I will keep you all informed as and when there is any news.  Sadly we have run out of time today and tomorrow I am off on the pop with an ex work colleague so bike hunting will have to wait  But until then here is something to look at and advise.

Sorry if i put you off! If you do decide you are interested im more thab happy to go n snout it out for you.

Blade looks good fun. Gotta be worth takin for a test ride and seein what its all about? Those engines are bulletproof anyway arent they.

Have fun out on the booze. Very jealous!

A lad I ride with used to have a 595i Daytona. Which was one of the older ones, what a bike! He only had it for around 12 months as he didn't really suit the sporty riding position but it was a great bike.

I've just spent about 2 hours tatting around with my dads GS, it was filthy from his last ride and I'm a perfectionist so couldn't be doing with that! I don't think the exhuast will have been this shiny since it left the dealer from new!!!

Good effort!

Hows the VFR going mate?

Just bought insurance for the Tuono.

Over twice the price of the VFR. Urgh!
