  • With 22 pages of thread to read through, I must confess I haven’t bothered BUT have actually now had a test drive of a Model 3 and thought I’d share the impressions here.   As a background,

  • I got quite angry about the luxury car tax thing yesterday morning and cancelled. If they can bring a version in under that 40k threshold I might jump back in. Keeping an eye on the VW ID too.

Im in the same boat, not looking to change for 12 - 18 months anyway so I will drive the ID first, if there is no electricity adjustable lumbar support option (the eGolf had no option to upgrade them) then I will have no option but to look seriously at the Model 3, I intend to view one when the UK RHD ones hit the stores.

You can go touch and feel a real UK Model 3 at Milton Keynes

A RHD one?

I wasn’t aware there were any in the UK, just all EU LHD cars in most if not all their stores.

My bad, just rechecked the post on an EV forum and it is the LHD, the way it was put, was as if the chap had gone there to see the UK model 3 especially since the price/configuration portal had gone live :(

It’s an LHD in Solihull as well.

There’s a lot to like but also some bits I’m not sure about. Doors sound tinny when closing, and having to change everything on a touch screen isn’t ideal.

It’s comfy, spacious and light inside though.

Same. I'm hopeful in 2-3 years time I can get a £25-30k second hand one. After all, they are all the same, just pick colour, missing features can be unlocked via software.

My Skoda can last another 2-3 years before needs £900+ of servicing (major service, DSG oil again, timing belt) So that's when I plan to ditch it and go all electric. It just had DSG oil change and new Michelin tyres all round.
