Hello to all.

I own a new skoda superb Break Style, i´m really happy with the car, it´s the 6.5 inch screen that is bugging me,not  even a year has passed since it arrived to the stores, and i think that this is a big upgrade in such a short period. Shouldn´t at least Skoda made the possibility for costumer to change only the display from 3V0919605 to 3V0919606,at least for a repurchase price.

Correct me if I´m wrong but if i want to maintain the bolero unit i just need to change the display?

No Canton for me then. There is no way I want KESSY - all the security of a paper bag. I wish they would give up on these keyless systems. Sorry - rant over!

It should be a straight swap from 6.5" to 8". i just cant confirm the connections are same or not however 290 Euro for the display is too much.

This is really interesting. I have Amudsen on mine and screen size is bugging me to hell. If I could just change the display, that would be cool. Do you know the OEM part number for 8 inch Amudsen display? The one linked above does not look like Amudsen, Nav button is missing.

Also, did anyone go to your dealer for regular check up and asked to install every single software update they have? Usually there are software updates to infotainment but are not available online. Dealer gets them and install them as necessary. I need to check with my dealer for a recall, might ask for software updates on other systems too. I hope to get new 10 color option for internal LEDs :) Slim chances, I know  :|

Normally, you'd just replace the whole Amundsen unit as a whole. Changing just the screen may not even be possible due to different screen size = possibly different resolution which can have consequences relating to the hardware that runs the screen. Risky I'd say.

The 10 colour option is still debatable as an update to MY16 cars. It's not known if there's a subtle hardware update to the LED controller itself, or if the software on the MIB-bus is different, or if the O/S that runs the front end of things has been altered to suit. Skoda aren't likely to spend the extra money to make the update retrospective to MY16 cars.

Personally I'd love the option for 10 colours but I won't lose sleep if it can't be done. Besides, I leave mine on blue and never bother changing it any more.

When my car goes in I'll badger them regarding software updates.

I think the the number is the same (3V0919606) just the letters afterwards are diferente. If yoou search in google there are pictures with and without NAV Button for that reference.

Columbus and Amudsen have same resolution. It should fit but I will not be first to try for sure ;) There might be someone here with access to these things and check it at some point.

I will also not lose any sleep over 10 color options but if we do get it, it might be indicative that Skoda will push any future updates too which might improve some other things.

You are correct. Will need to wait to see if someone could test if screen fits before thinking about replacing it myself.

Don´t know if i can put this thing here but here is a  website with etka 2016

I have contacted Skoda and they awnser me

Unfortunately, you cannot change the displays, because it is the whole unit. As I wrote, infotainments cannot be changed due to technical specifications.

We are sorry, but there is no available solution at the moment.

So if we want to upgrade to columbus it isn´t possible (Waiting for an awnser from skoda)  lol it doesn´t make any sense.

OK I recieved here is the awnser from skoda CZ

Dear Mr. Vieira,

thank you for your request.

Unfortunately, you cannot change infotainment system (MIB) in your car (downgrade or upgrade).

Thank you for your understanding.

LOL what an awnser.

Ok I have been searching trough forums and in GOLFMK7 and Discover Pro Euro Radio 8" - Retrofit into NA MK7 GTI ThreadFlr  just switch the screen from 6.5 to 8 inch, i talked to him and he sad it was just plug and play.

In Skoda it shoud be the same wright ?

Same answer has been sent to me.

We are also thinking same with you that it will fit but skoda is not accepting.

LCD screen was selling on car-equipment but there is no stock there right now. Which store are you checking?

Thank you.

Lol i was still dreaming the dealer that sold me the car (it was a stand car) could change me the display for free lol.

I don´t know were to buy the display unless from skoda directly.

I think it should be plug and play also. Hope someone can get a 8" display and swap.

How can I check whether my Superb is MY16 or 17? Is there something in the VIN number that will tell me?

Well, is your mirror frameless or with a large plastic frame?

That's a pretty easy way to tell.

2017 is frameless.

I think it's got the plastic frame. I'd need to check to be sure. It's an Irish model car though, and the spec can be different to UK models, so I wondered if there was some way to check from the VIN, rather than relying on some spec feature that might be different in Irish cars anyway.

They started making MY2017 cars on week 22 - was yours build before or after that?

Not sure. Bought it new, in August, but it was a car in stock...

Found this info which says how to get month/year of manufacture from VIN. Škoda info on pg9.

https://www.team-bhp.com/advice/find-your-cars-date-manufacture-vin

The 10th digit of my VIN is G, which corresponds to 2016, which is correct. But my sixth digit is 7. According to that link, it should be a letter, corresponding to a month. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Is this still true? I'm in Norway, but tried the configurator on skoda.se and there was no optional heated steering wheel.

I also emailed my Norwegian dealer (I'm thinking about ordering the 190HP TDI Estate L&K) and she denied any heated steering wheel option, she said it will only be available for the upcoming Kodiaq.

I did the same. I asked my dealer and got the same anser.

I also asked about the rear cam washer. If there was any washer. He could not answer. So he is

After reading this thread, I have notised that is a great different between the countries how Superb is delivered. The specs are really different.

The L&K in Norway is really packed with equipments. There is no TV, trailer hub, adjust the front seat from the rear seat, sun curtain on rear windows, a net between the rear seat and the trunk, isofix in the passanger seat, doble trunk floor, padle shift on the stearing wheel, ventilated seats, spear wheel, heated front window, panorama roof, smart gate, bluethooth premium with sim, phone box with charging or alarm. The rest is standard with L&K in Norway

I did not order the virtual pedal, i got kessy as standard and to add the virtual pedal would cost me 1500Sek

Around 150Gbp, and all the cars i tested it never works! i mean like 10 cars at different delars, it take longer time to search where to wave your foot than leaving whatever you have in your hand and open from the handel.

So thats why i did not orderd as extra option!

I have been to 4 different Skoda dealers and asked about this virtuell pedal. They all tried to demonstrate it in the shop for me. Every one failed.

The L&K has this as a standard in Norway. My dealer promised me that he will learn this before I get my car in 2 weeks. Then he will teach me....

The ones I highlighted are standard in L&K in Finland. I suppose we have probably the most stuff included in L&K. However the prices are really high, almost as high as in Norway.

The cheapest one (1.4 TSI ACT L&K DSG) costs 45 100 EUR. The most expensive one (280 4X4) costs 57 135,60. I ordered the latter and with some extras the price went over 60k EUR..

Yes, it is guite expencive. The cheapest estate is €37.318 about £ 31.665. That is a 125 HP petrol 6g manual. It is still with more specs than the rest of Europe cheapest versjons.

The panorama roof is standard? Is it possible to buy a L&K version without the panorama roof?

I have panorama roof in my Elegace now, and I have noticed that the head space is 5 cm lower. That's Why I did not order it on my new car.

Is it possible to buy a L&K version without the panorama roof?

I don't think so. At least in the Finnish configurator there isn't an option to leave it out. I didn't ask the dealer since I wanted to have it!
