No Canton for me then. There is no way I want KESSY - all the security of a paper bag. I wish they would give up on these keyless systems. Sorry - rant over!

I have recently purchased a Skoda Superb 2.0tdi 150bhp L&K and i think i have the updated model. I have the new rear view mirror and the choice of 10 colours in the ambient lighting menu.

My question is regarding the electric auxiliary air heater.....

As far as I know I have this fitted and when I go into the menu on the heating control I am able to tick a box saying I would like the auxiliary heating on but I can't make any timing setting as described in the manual. I also see a separate key shown in the manual which I wasn't given by the dealer.

Please can someone provide some info regarding the auxiliary heater??

sorry but what is aux heating :) ?

sorry but what is aux heating :) ?

The auxiliary air heater is there to pre-heat your vehicle prior to you leaving the house so I am led to believe. As far as I'm aware it is fitted to my vehicle however looking through the owners manual, I do not have the menu shown neither do I have a separate key to turn this on. The only thing I have is a tick box which turns it on or off.

My question is how do I control the system and should I have been given a key to control the system remotely?

The auxiliary heating is not an option in the UK

Thank you.

The aux heater would have been a nice addition with lots of travel on the continent during the winter months.

auxiliary heater is made by Webasto, you can install missing parts as aftermarket,

but price will be 30-40% higher than check box in options list

€750 for TDI

€830 for TSI

I seem to recall from the days when I was importing s/h cars from Belgium in the seventies that the aux petrol heaters are illegal in the UK.

Many VW 411/412s and even Beetles had aux heaters and I wondered at the time why UK cars did not have them and was told that they were illegal here. Something to do with the leaving the car unattended rule.

Laws may have changed since then and the heater may work differently to the old VW ones but that might be why no UK cars of any make ever have aux heaters.

It's not offered in Turkey too. I would have bought it if I could. Sucks to clean all the snow and the ice in winter, especially now with a baby going to daycare every morning.

Any reason why it is illegal in the U.K.? Unattended running "engine"? Exhaust gasses in closed spaces?

As far as i know, it doesn't burn anywhere near as much petrol as when you'd have the engine running regularly, so there is much less exhaust gas.

Hi did you have any update on the 8" Bolero display upgrade?  Is the correct part number  3V0919606 ?

Hello Nazmi

It is the correct part but dealer only gives price for the entire unit  860€ Portugal price.

We have to keep dreaming lol .

The Rover 75 in the UK was available with a Webasto aux heater as an option from 2002 onwards (diesel models only). It came with a remote control fob and also had a control mounted within the drivers arm rest. It heated the car to whatever temperature was last set in the climate control.

 Hello

I have a confirmation from a user here that did change the display an i saw it in pictures in other forum. It´s plug and play at least for a amundsen

Bolero must be the same thing you just have to find the correct part because bolero has  setup button.
