I always try to get close to 4,300K (pure white) as possible, but IIRC these were 5,000K, (certainly not as high as 6,000K

I am a bit disappointed with Xenons on the S3. Anyone changed the bulbs for better performance?

Also what is the fitting type.

I replaced teh fog lights without any problems. Removing the front grills was very easy. You can find instructions in the car user manual.

I used these bulbs:

Really want to change my fogs to a whiter light but nervous about a Chinese, potentially substandard, product. Anyone replaced their's with a branded equivalent?

The ones Gizmo recommended at the start of this thread. I have them in nearly 10 months & no issues, they are reliable, bright, error free & look the part! Well worth getting..

Thanks Rebelred, that'll teach me for reading a post starting from the end, lol!

I have a pair of those but no good to me.

They do not fit on a 280

Hi, just looking at these, I see on the website they come with a canbus adaptor, did you use this or just fit them without it?

  • Author

No resistors fitted, no errors either.

Excellent thanks. Just looking upgrade some bulbs in the car and will do these - they look great. Also going for the Superskoda boot & front door lights plus the glove box light from your post & the indicators. I noticed when you read the text from the indicator bulbs from your link is says they are interior only & are illegal to use externally. Is this right? Are they really that brig is causes a problem?

  • Author

Not sure why they are not road legal TBH, but they are not excessively bright and emit a nice orange glow.

I have run cheaper LED’s in my MKII Superb and like you found they were cheaper for a reason, they were either a horrible colour, emitted crap light, failed quickly or a combination of all 3.

I dare say this will be kiss of death, but so far, 12 months on (18,500 miles) and I have had no issues with any of the bulbs currently fitted (remember the crap front fog light bulbs I fitted were removed immediately)

thankfully lottery weren't expensive(€5,21)
current score is 2:1 MB vs Ali :)

with RS pedal's cover+ footrest(€21,33) and 16x Cree LEDs reversing bulb(€14,67) i won

p.s.

Will I require W5W bulbs for the boot (hatch)?  Does anyone know what fitment the puddle lights are for driver/passenger front doors, please?

Hi,

I notice these LED bulbs come with CANBUS control units, did you fit these or simply plug the LED bulbs in? Thanks

  • Author

The resistors (CANBUS controllers) are not needed in a S3.

Excellent, thanks.

I have now fitted the superskoda replacement boot and door lights - the boot lights really make a huge difference to the light around the boot both inside and on the ground outside (estate version). Have also now fitted LED glove box, reversing and indicator lights and they really do make a difference.

What is your opinion to the door lights? (not done them on mine)

What is your opinion to the door lights? (not done them on mine)

They are brighter than the original but not as much difference as the boot lights although still worthwhile. I think the reason the extra brightness of the boot lights is due the fact the two are together. They are easy to fit - didn't need to shave a bit of plastic as I did with the boot lights - they really are a 30 second fit.

I've done door lights, hatch boot lights and reversing lights all plug and play and no panel alterations. All from SuperSkoda. Well worth it IMO.
