Even at the Mileage?

What sort of things have you replaced?

Our base have just 1st plated a 2012 superb with 144k on the clock

I thought the SE Business was the Superb III but looking at the pictures looks like a good deal (those leather seats look great)  - I also got a reasonable deal from DM Keith last June.

The good news:-

Bought my 2014 Superb II 1.4tsi (only poverty spec S) from them last year (just over £10k @ 14 months old)

The bad news:-

They only offered me £300 for my old 2003 Superb I (170k but still going well) - Whilst doing the deal sold my old car to a colleague using Whatsapp :notme:

Lovely motor there Skippy. Hope it gives you better service than the Superb you have now -- I think it's fair to say it's been a rogue one. How many engines has it had rebuilt/replaced? And you had gearbox/diff issues with it as well didn't you? Says it all when you consider your last Octavia had way over 200k when you sold it!

Mike

The clutch release bearing shattered came loose and smashed the clutch plate, after just 70K on it, mechanic had never seen that happen before, clutch itself was good for another 100K miles he reckoned but replaced it anyway.

All the Business editions come with Sat Nav, my 2016 Yeti Business has DAB too so i would think yours would

but what should it look like 1 or 2

I would have thought the first one in a Superb II.

I agree with WaveyDavey, looking at pictures on Autotrader its should have the one in your first picture,RNS315. Not a great sat nav but ok, I had the previous RNS310 which was woeful at best.

The second unit you posted a link to doesn't have sat nav, just a radio, and is the newer generation Amunsden.

The Amunsden name is used by Skoda, VW call it RNS315. In my previous VW Passat CC it had an RNS510 which is identical to the Skoda Columbus, so same unit different name.

Nice new car you have there, I hope it serves you well.

I don't think free is an option on the 315, tbh I found it horrible to use in my last Octavia.

There might be a free upgrade but only if the dealers feeling generous, personally I don't think you'll get an update even if one exists which I very much doubt as the car is pretty new anyway. Doesn't hurt to ask though.

I don't think much has changed since you asked this last year http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/353924-rns-315-map-updates/

Good luck with the car! I think that was a good decision to change. You've certainly had your share of problems with the last one and wasn't worth putting more money into it.

Went to pick it up on Tuesday, drove it back up to Scotland, averaging 59, mpg, cruse works a treat, it was the RNS 315 with DAB and reverse sensors.

went out tonight, headlights are bloody rubbish on dip, hardly any light ahead , would class them as being dangerous, so HIDS will soon be ordered, mind you I have been driving with HIDs since Mike fitted them in my Octavia, about 5 years ago, once I knew how to do it they where transferred over to my superb 3 years ago, forgot to take them out before the trade in.

I asked them to try and find a set of 16 inch alloys instead of the 17s that's fitted, due to the car spending most of its time going around rough potholed streets in my town, the 16s tend to dampen the bumps, there excuse was you cannot as it would upset the speedo, I told them to open the filler cap and see what sizes are fitted, but they wouldn't change them, so anyone want to swap.

Can the stop start be totally deactivated somehow ???, apart from pressing the button to turn it off, found 1 blip opening for all doors on maxi dot , just need to get the seatbelt warning turned off .

Messaged regarding wheels.

I'm also keen to know if you can code out the stop start as I never really use it, I just use an old seat belt clip for the warning chime on my side and most punters wear seat belts sitting in the front. The maxidot has most options as you'll find out by having a flick through it but not major changes like above

G

Of course you can fit 16´s on it. Just make sure the tires are 205/55-16 your speedo will be fine.

Not sure that will work -- Skippy's new Superb is a mark 3 based on the MQB platform.

Mike

The pictures he posted in the first post are of a mk2 not mk3 Mike.
