It's like you wouldn't question the Earth is round would you?

But it isn't, it's obloid, not even that, its also got big lumps and pits in it and it's changing shape constantly.

Please don't hijack this thread with all this science religion twaddle.

As we previously highlighted, it’s interesting that almost every automaker working on electric vehicles other than Tesla are planning to reuse battery packs instead of recycling them for the materials.

Despite the Tesla propaganda about battery recyclability, hardly anyone recycles Li-Ion batteries, they haven't worked out how to do it safely, economically or in an environmentally friendly way. So thats why they are bunging them into storage schemes, just a way of forgetting about the problem for a while.

An interesting perspective on maintenance revenue and it’s importance to the dealership bottom line -

it’s a real worry

VAG will find a way to fit complex drive belts that need changing every 4 years and DSG that will be ultra reliable.....

Theresa May MP / PM is planning on the UK being at the forefront of the Green Technology.   Helping the advancement of 'dismantling batteries'  & if that fails she can get them exported to someplace that can do it cheaper, Poland say, and if they can not do it they will dig a hole and put them in until some gets good at it for not much money.

That nice man Dyson must have told her, give us lots of money and we will have British EV's with the new technology years behind everyone else.

Tesla has a proprietary home battery storage product, so I wouldn’t expect them to be promoting the competing home storage recycled product .  I expect Tesla will sell as a premium product but the recycled system will still potentially be a very effective but more affordable one.

Reality check

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-6225039/Nissan-Leafs-range-just-160-miles-good-luck-finding-charging-point-works.html

Dale Vince, the multi-millionaire founder of Ecotricity, tried to explain why the charging network let me down so badly.

He pointed out that his company has been running a loss on its Electric Highway — the network of charging stations on motorways — ever since it started in 2011. As a result, it has had to scale back its support services so it can afford to keep the chargers going.

In consequence, the helpline for stranded drivers no longer operates 24/7, and the company doesn’t rush to fix broken chargers.

An electric car for city life is a no-brainer surely.   First adopters will pay for, or kickstart the infrastructure in the same way petrol stations sprang up for the Model T Ford.  You would hardly expect the reverse.  Loss of fuel taxes will be offset by the government too........as you would expect.

Lots to be learnt from the Paris scheme issues.  My company has a thousand cars on the Paris streets and now the City and Renault are putting in a much smaller scheme that sounds a bit more expensive. Progress costs, at least in the early stages...    http://www.greencarcongress.com/2018/10/20181001-renault.html

Car sharing is another threat dealerships have identified. E-car sharing is their worst nightmare I suspect .

South Australia’s big frequency control battery is a big success -

(Just a pity our coal promoting conservatives insist on toeing the Murdoch line of denial)

New smaller Renault EV coming and Renault Hybrids.

Hopefully that means Citroen, Peugeot & Vauxhall's as well.  They will be busy in Slovakia.

Maybe some of that manufacturing or just assembling of cars will be done in the UK.

Government grants, and low corporation taxes!
