  • Lol... I do agree with that. The way you put it, the next time I see one of the new Mercs it will likely remind me of the disappointment of opening the breakmaker in the morning only to discover somet

  • My beef with the design? Why FFS do they have to have an iPad-alike stuck in the middle of the dash? Can't they design a dash that incorporates a big screen? Others do. Just looks very much an afterth

  • About 2 months ago I traded in my 8 month old  C250 MB Estate for an Octavia Mk.3 SEL Estate. I originally bought the MB as a replacement for two VW Passats and very quickly became extremely disappoin

The Briskoda forums are much better than the Merc ones.

I still own the Fabia so still haunt these forums.

I sold the Octavia to my son rather than let somebody else take advantage of the poor residuals.

I'd agree there......friendly enough at times though.

Have to say, you're going the way I wanted and maybe should have done.

But I got bored of the dealership attitudes towards me (partly because maybe I do not look my age).

I like my Octavia, but for sure the c205 is in a different league.

Simpsons?

I'm guessing that it is coming from Simpsons/Preston by the Reg..PK16 ***

Yeah. Roger, if it's the same guy that brought ours he's a thoroughly nice chap! :)

It is Nick I am dealing with. Will be speaking to him again on Thursday, as he will be wanting me to give him the money for car ready for Friday delivery, nice chap, but I won't like him so much when he empties my bank account!!

Yeah I dealt with Nick and Naz, both nice guys. Ours is PJ and came from Simpsons, the driver who flat backed it to us was a real good guy :) only had about 4 miles on the clock!

I Think that the superb is let down by its engine availability.  Currently there is nothing more than a 2.0l engine and no sports edition.  Where all the other cars in its sector excel are in their 3l 6 pot engine options, think Audi A6 3.0l or BMW 530d/535d.  If there was a 3l vRS superb then I would probably be awaiting the delivery of a Superb instead of an Octavia

I am getting baffled by the headline prices and discounts,  I quite like the Octavia, but just been emailed by a broker, and offering 15.5% off the Mercedes C class.

However they are also offering 26% of the Audi A6 and 29.5% off an Audi A7  Are Audi really struggling that badly after dieselgate ?

At these kind of discounts the Skoda and Audi prices start to come close, and I suspect Audi will have higher residuals.   Except they seem to be selling 6 month old ones for only 10-15% off, so why buy nearly new ?

There's a new A6/7/8 due next year - probably the reason for the discounts.

Is the A6/7/8 essentially the same car but with a different badge on each? If so great marketing by Audi.

Vorsprung Durch tecnik

Very Deft Trickery

My F31 BMW is a better built car, but even that feels cheap, I think the Octy does pretty flipping well for where it's priced, and at list price my BM is £19k more than our Octy, it's no way on earth worth that much more, even half that is pushing it. Well done Skoda!
