Alloy Centre Caps

Featured Replies

Corrosion and discolouration evident already. Disappointing to say the least.

+1 mine are also are showing signs of whiteworm they were also dry stored throughout the winter so have in effect only been on the car approx 3 months.

They will be covered under the warranty, but this is not really the point.

Yeah one of mine as well. Cant say i'm bothered. I'll just  get it replaced.

Mine too, not very good after only 4 months.

Mine are four months old and look terrible.

On my SII I have had three sets replaced and before the 5 year warranty is up it will be a fourth set plus three alloy wheels.

This is poor from Skoda though my dealer has always been very good at supporting me with claims.

My wheel nut caps have lost the silver colour and have turned into white wheel nut covers.

This happens I have found when you use a cleaning agent that does not have a low ph level.

Mine was like it on pickup....

+1 all wheels are finished in a clear coat lacquer, no different to what is used on the cars bodywork.... so treat them both the same, would you wash the bodywork in an acidic cleaner?

Hand car wash places are also well renowned for using strong chemical as it makes cleaning the car easier (therefore quicker) for them, the only problem with that is it will strip any protection off on the car and can damage the lacquer and plastics over time.

Wash your car yourself. Don't use those hand wash guys.

I actually lost a locking wheel nut cover within weeks of getting the car and then checked the rest and found most of them hadn't been pushed on very far. Got a replacement set off eBay for a couple of quid. The centre covers look ok at the moment but interesting to hear they are warranty items.

Bickertons ordered some in for me :-)

And.... They are here :-)
