Today I installed a reversing camera into my 2015 Superb Outdoor wagon and used tutorials here from all those before me.... thanks Briskodians for a long day.  I found I had to use parts of most guides as all our cars are quite different underneath.

 

I had some frustrating moments and none more so that what confronts me now.  I should say that installation was successful and reverse camera works as expected.

 

However......

 

Since the install I have been troubleshooting errors... namely...

 

1/  License plate lights don't work now and throw a check bulb warning on dash

2/  TPM error on dash

3/  Steering Angle Sensor error and ESC error on dash

 

I've checked fuse at position 4 (courtesy of owners manual) and it's ok - multimeter test confirms 

 

Checked bulbs and they are ok.

 

Hooked up to VCDS ran an Autoscan and cleared relevant fault codes.  Started her up and errors showed up.....did this a few times and it seems I am just going around in circles....

Can anyone offer any clues on what is ailing my not so Superb (for now anyways)???     

I'd check that you didn't damage any wires or grounding points when you were pulling the wires through for the camera. A bunch of those faults could be caused by a wire being cut.

Personally I would download the latest software (currently 16.8.0) and see if you can clear the fault codes.

I checked the wiring path for the license plate lights and they run down the left side of the tail gate and I ran the wiring down the right side (and that was a bugger of a job getting past the foam covered wire to the window demister).

 

Any clues on where I would find the earth points for these items?? 

Crisis averted!!  

 

I drove to get replacement license plate bulbs and on the journey the TPM and ESC lights went out.  I replaced the bulbs and there are no more errors!!  Woo Hoo!!

 

I am now a happy little vegemite....

For the TPM/ESC lights, you can turn the steering wheel all the way to the left, then to the right and back to the center.
