Pedals on vrs

Featured Replies

lealar - who are they?

Good result.

Skoda UK Customer Services Communications Manager often say do not listen to the internet and even they name Briskoda.

Surprisingly they often know just what is being said, must just be the amount of times the Brand Managers senior team members gets tipped off that yet again an Official Dealership has muppets dealing face to face with customers.

Skoda customer service as to date have not acknowledged my email.  Further more I have had £500 credited to my bank for the promised fuel card that did not show on hand over.

Its very frustrating when little things go wrong and the Dealership try to make out your lying about One thing. Then blatantly lie THEMSELVES  about certain things that come as standard, that you have to pay extra for, or say that's how its made, check your facts about the vehicles first.

Amazing when head office are sent an email, and within an hour the dealership is ringing to put everything right.

JUST GET IT RIGHT IN THE FIRST PLACE, THE CUSTOMER IS PAYING YOUR WAGES.

Would I buy from them again ?   what do you think?

Well done yourself in getting the result. Pleased you got the 500 'fuel' money put into your account but makes me really suspiceous of what game the dealership are playing as that is not the normal procedure. Other potential buyers/users need to be aware of who the dealer is - would be helpful to others so post dealership name when your problems are fully resolved.

The only thing i can think regarding the fuel card is that didn't the fuel offer officially finish on the 30th September? It could be that they agreed it before realising that you weren't getting the car till October?

We picked up the wife's Citigo on the 23rd September and filled out the online application for the offer the same day and only got the card arrive on this last Saturday. She activated it on Sunday and used it that evening to buy herself a new iPhone SE which arrived yesterday..... Still £65 left on the card to buy some 'fuel'. :D

lealar,

Maybe someone at the Dealership was already benefiting from a fuel card that should have been with a customer.

Surely not though...

As I understand it (having read up about the offer when told I was getting a fuel card) you qualify for it on the date you place your order and not when the car is delivered. My dealer processed the application without any prior knowledge or subsequent involvement by me (until presented with the qualifying certificate with unique number to finally send for the card) so either the dealership failed in administration or there is something else going on (their attitude re the brake pedals just adds to my suspicions). Seems to be working out ok in the end, which is good.

Be also worth having a good look under the driver's seat. A delivery driver may have flicked it off by mistake with his boot.

Once I have the said cheque in my hand I will be Name her and the dealership.

.......................and her name is and the dealership is ?

Fuel card offer was on vehicles ordered by 30th September, ordered mine early September, picked up 1st October. Given claim details at pick up, which you input onto website and recieved e mail a couple of days ago saying card on way.

Picking up pedals and mats today from dealership, they emailed telling me they would like to visit me and fit the pedal cover and mats, also stated that they hope I'm now happy with the car and that I should have received the £500 back into my account as a gesture of good will.

Is it well done Lookers Skoda Stockport?

Is it well done Lookers Skoda Stockport?

Not IMHO, because of all the earlier lying about there not being a rubber on the pedal and about the terms of the fuel card.

Very much a warning to others at the type of treatment they may get at LOOKERS SKODA STOCKPORT.

Some staff might require more training on dealing with customers and not just on up-selling.

Training like if they do not know the answer find the other employee that does and not just another bluffer on the staff.

A warning to SKODA UK CUSTOMER SERVICES that they maybe better get some mystery shoppers in and check the Dealership out.

A Warning to LOOKERS Directors that they have some dodgy employees possibly costing them the loss of customers,

and that need training and proper management.

Rather late, but I've just checked the last four brochures dated Feb, April, June and July 2016 and it states stainless steel pedals are standard on the vRS (all engines).

Something or someone definitely not right at Lookers and would be of concern to me as a prospective buyer. Two things wrong - same individual? Maybe a quick hopefully correct answer re pedals but confirmed a second time? Then topping that off with the fuel card issue.

Did a check; both my vRS DSG pedals are stainless steel and fitted with rubber inserts.

Thanks to everybody again, picked up and fitted clutch pedal cover, so now all the pedals match, £500 cash back as a gesture of good will so problem resolved for me.

Lookers Stockport need to get there act together.

Look forward to joining in on other debates

Thank you all again   great site for Skoda Lovers.

  • 4 weeks later...

Slightly worried as this is where I ordered my car from...everything seems to have gone ok so far bar a couple of little niggles, which having read this are maybe slight concerns now! Was relatively impressed with the salesman I dealt with - I had already decided on which model I wanted (1.4 TSI SE Sport Estate) - as they hadn't got the exact one in the showroom he took me out in a few cars - a diesel SE Sport with DSG (which I'm maybe regretting a little not getting now!), a 1.4 TSI SE and then finally some random estate just to get the feel of driving one.

Only a couple of issues, one of which confused me as much as it seemed to confuse the salesman in fairness: the online configurator seemed to have a load of specs selectable that in fact, were not available (according to the dealership's ordering programme) on the SE Sport e.g. 18" Black Turini wheels. As of today, these are still selectable on the online configurator. Interestingly however, the ones which I compromised on (18" Alaris alloys) are no longer there, but 18" Golus ones are instead. I spec'd the reversing camera as well (though this was *not* on the online configurator but on his system), but had a call later that day to say that apparently it could not be fitted onto the SE Sport. Figured that as I had parking sensors I'd be ok.

Other issue is re the spare wheel. Salesman could not explain why both the space-saver wheel and the full sized wheel were available at the same price with no effect on boot space. I wanted a wheel rather than the repair kit, but figured that the full sized wheel might compromise on boot space (like it does in my Focus, hence I have a space-saving one). However, he said not and that both wheels would fit into the space provided and I could still have the variable boot floor even with a full sized wheel. Thought nothing of it particularly until heard lealar's story....anyone in the know able to shed light on this?

So, I ordered it on 17th October, though the agreement I've had emailed to me says its was done the next day. Got what I consider to be a reasonably good deal for it. Since then I've had a couple of contacts from the salesman who said that as yet he's not had a build week for the car. I was given a 12 week estimate for the new car, but 4 weeks in I am getting a little impatient and worried that I've not heard anything, especially given I have seen others on here who've had a build week having ordered after me.

Overall I was relatively impressed with Lookers, though less so having read this. I've had no particular issues with my salesperson, but am a little reluctant to name individuals as I caught him looking at Briskoda himself. Though I had no contact with the manager, he made reference to a female that he needed to run any discounts by, so wondering if it's the same person?

Anyway, apologies for the long post - if anyone has any experience re the above that could allay my fears, gratefully appreciated!

The online configurator cant be trusted 100%, it does have errors, so the dealers system is 'gospel' compared to that.

The 18" Turini's can be dealer fitted also, presumably the same size tyres as your standard 18". Maybe Lookers dont like swapping  alloys for people, I expect you could sell the Alaris on Ebay for a fair bit.

Incidently you can get a full set on ebay for £549 probably half the dealer price.

Not sure if it's helpful but the 18" Gemini wheel on the vRS with 225 tyres doesn't fit flush in the spare wheel well, but it's only 1 or 2 cm.

If it's the same with the turinis and Skoda are lifting the floor it'll be so little that with make no difference to the storage.
