About the multilink (I have the information from the brochure)

Norway: multilink from 150 Hp

Germany: multilink 1,8 TSI and 4x4

You have to check for each country seperately.

On skodaUK twitter, they are saying that multi-link is only on the 4x4 version of the 2.0d :(

Does anyone know if the 2.0d SE L will have the multi-link rear suspension?  Unlike my 2013 2.0d Elegance...

On the pre FL it was limited to over 150bhp unless 4x4

So in the current pre VRS line-up the 4x4 will be the only multi-link, assuming the more powerful diesel and 1.8Tsi are not available in any "cooking" Octys in the UK.

Still no VRS in the configurator. Looks like the 245 is going to be launched next week before we get to configure a standard VRS. Probably just as well as if the 245 has extra stuff you would have specified included its probably a no-brainer to go for it.

RS is on the Irish configurator.....but no option prices as yet. Spec will be different from the UK no doubt as it has 17" wheels as standard.

Yes, so it sounds as though it is the same again.  Anyone have DCC on a Mk3?  I am interested to know if it improves the ride, which is one of the few complaints I have about my Mk3.

Of course you get multi-link above 120bhp in the Golf, so that is a tempting option, especially as the lease prices show much better value (I am a company car user).  My only reservation is the reduced legroom in the back of a Golf estate vs. the Octavia.

Anyone had a nosey around the bootlid - have the bootstops changed in any way to try and prevent the bootlid vibration that afflicts some pre-facelift models?

We don't really need the people room in the back of our R estate, (which is why I still have my Superb.....), we needed the boot space + "stuff" carrying capability that the Golf Hatch cannot provide.

We did, however, decide that DCC would be a nice option even on 18" rims, & it was. If we are poodling around in traffic or cruising on a highway, then we leave the DCC & steering in comfort mode,

but when we feel the need it's a simple matter to select which ever mode we feel suits the occasion.

When we do get round to specifying a new Octy, Superb or even another VW, DCC is already on the "must have" list.

Have to say that the cheap & cheerful rear suspension is my only real beef with my 1.4 TSi. Drove an Elegance, got it in the neck from family about the choppy ride, bought an SE with the taller tyre instead. On the UK's crappy urban roads it really isn't that good.

Skoda's got to do something about this with the Mk IV.

Thanks DC.  I am thinking of DCC if I go the Golf GT estate direction, or the Octavia SE L.  I have a Golf GT est demo car for 4 days next week, so I will see what it is like on standard suspension.  Would still be interested if DCC does improve the torsion beam rear on an Octy.  I thought it was an option on the pre-FL, so hopefully someone will chip in.

Oh yes.  Well they are on the VRS, I haven't checked the details on the Scout

Thanks thats great news, should be on Carwow soon then

Urgh.  I'd seen on Carwow that two winter packs were being offered for the vRS.  One was heated screen and washers for £350 and the other was the former plus heated front seats for £600.  As I'm not fussed for the seats I was going to opt for the cheaper pack but it's not showing as an option on the configurator. Just the full fat £600 option.

The options on CarWow (and DtD) are not quite in sync with those on the configurator.

I think you can have the heated washer nozzles on their own, but you can only have the heated windscreen with the heated seats. Its confusing on CarWow becasuse as far as I can see from the price the Alcantra seat option includes heated.  I also note on CarWow you can only have folding mirrors with electric seats, where as on Skoda you can have them without memory function. Is this just a bit sad?

I'm up at my dealer on Friday anyway to drop my car off for an MOT and plan on speaking to someone in sales then. I saw a spreadsheet of options they'd been sent when I was in on Monday with my wife's car so hopefully that'll clear things up.

Just had an email from Simpsons with new PCH deals

Is there a spec list or some pics of the standard new VRS interior. Are the specs the same as the old one? I really wanted a superb sportline but the saving by having a new octy vrs has made me think twice
