In conventional terms, yes. But VAG is about maximising the production/sales of common components, which it does by using the same ones across different models and different brands. Plus, some models just don't sell as well in some markets as they do in others.

So while VW might have a limited range, VAG would say that doesn't matter as the same 1.4TSi engine design, for example, appears in everything from a Fabia to an Audi A4. So the 'range' is the components, the brands are the means by which they sell into more than one market.

If the Skoda (or VW) option is not available in the UK many will buy another brand family entirely. Not everyone is willing to be upsold to an Audi to get a fuel/drivetrain to their preference.

One assumes they think have pitched it right for the bottom line, but forcing VW diesel engines down UK consumers throats seems a risky strategy bearing in mind recent history and an apparent general trend away from diesel.

Not the VRS yet though.

They are offering deals on the FL VRS on DtD and CarWow already.  Looks as though the standard spec and options are still up in the air however. Seems bizarre considering its been on the German konfigurator for quite a while. Maybe they stockpiled a load of pre-Fuglies.  (The new front is growing on me however)

Re FL VRS availability. I have been quoted 13 weeks to delivery today by a dealer via CarWow.

Black pack (18" Turini alloys, black rear spoiler, black mirror caps and door sticker) seems to have gone from the new configurator.

I think the VRS looks ok with the four lights, but it really doesn't suit the other models.

Juan, how did you pick any options or colour

I can't get anything to work on Carwow

interesting as a dealer told me last week it would be June before the FL VRS could be ordered so August / September for delivery

I was told end February/early March for vRS orders

I didn't. I asked the dealer if standard spec and option prices had been established, they said yes but didn't provide any further info I hadn't seen before.  But they were willing to quote a price based on list price for standard spec.

Well that kind of fits in with a 13 week lead time.

Some pictures again, this time from skodacommunity.

Any ideas about the purpose of the top LED modules in dipped beam/high beam housing?

The outer one could be built-in static cornering light but I have no idea about the one in high beam housing.

Skoda CEO Bernhard Maier has confirmed the brand are to offer virtual cockpit technology on selected cars from April  ...http://www.parkers.co.uk/car-advice/2016/skoda-to-offer-virtual-cockpit-in-early-2017/  any new info of which model it could be? The new Yeti??

Well it's coming to the Leon at around the same time so I'd expect the Octavia but what else, Kodiaq probably and maybe the Superb but after the facelift

In the article it sad week 16. Shanghai motor show is taken place.. and yeti production starts week 45 or 47. If it is the octavia facelift they should go for it now. And think of all upset costumers that order a octavia facelift or kodiaq now?

It's not unusual for tech to be added to cars after orders have already begun. For instance you won't be able to order the 1.5TSI in the Octavia until later on in the year.

Thats true. Ok we wait and see. If you look at vw and audi they have introduced the Virtual Cockpit when they launched a new model or fl. I have to wait to order a new car for a while ..

Bolero I guess 3 generation of MIB. Touch, with same buttons layout. Not bad wish we all had that back in 2013!

Does anyone know if the 2.0d SE L will have the multi-link rear suspension?  Unlike my 2013 2.0d Elegance...

Apparently its going to be leaf springs from now on :D

To Juniperz,

Nothing is mensioned on the UK Skoda site.

But we here high above in Norway get multilink from 150 HP.

Means the 1.4 TSI and 2.0 TDI will have multilink.

To Croat,

Standard Equipment is different from country to country.

Depends on what the importer will take in.

Skoda HQ and Importer deceides how and what you can order.

Yes, I agree - nothing on site, configurator or the "flyer" brochure.  I think 150 was the cutoff in 2013, but the 2.0d still fell on the wrong side.  I think they said above 150 - and of course 150 is not above 150...

The vRS came along later, and got the multi-link.

No I've had just about enough of the rear torture suspension setup thank you, they can shove leaf springs where the sun don't shine also

The owner's manual suggests that nothing has changed...check page 312-313.

Thanks for the link - very handy.  Though I cannot see what it is that you see on page 312-3 that makes you say that nothing has changed...

Does anyone know If the octavia facelift got traffic jam assist? Cant find anything on it?? The Leon and golf and A3 got it. Why not the octavia?
