Mirrorlink advice

Featured Replies

I love my new Fabia

I'm disappointed by my iPhone's maps, basically they are complete rubbish and would literally have me going round in circles so I wondered if it was a simple task to buy an Android mobile and use google maps in the same way? Is there anything I need to know? Will I need an app? I know I need to be careful which phone I buy, tend to be the expensive ones, groan.

Any help gratefully received.

Well android Auto is part of Smartlink. So it should react in a very similar way to apple Car play.

Im sure an Android user will confirm or deny this

if you do go down the android route

you can download via wifi all the maps for the uk

that way the only data req if you wish would be for traffic

will also need 5.0 lollipop or above to work

Thank you. This is great stuff

Yes and Google Maps will be far better than Apple Maps (I'm also seriously considering going Android because of the map apps available... Apple seem intent on not allowing them into CarPlay). I think the only additional thing you'd need on an android phone is to download the dedicated CarPlay app, which is required ????
