No State Religion then for the UK.  Just a Cabal of the Church of England.

People are free thinkers and can ignore religion if they wish. Just have no say on the Church of England part in Law making and legislation.

UK on the verge of giving the six counties of North Ireland economically to the South of Ireland ?

Customs points at Cairnryan, Fishguard,  Holyhead, Liverpool and Pembroke then instead of along the 300 mile Ireland border?

If the 6 counties "effectively" remain part of the EU it appears that Scotland, Wales and London want to too.

DUP would actually want the Eire 12% corporate tax rate but will not want the higher VAT rate of course.

No deal/sell out today, manana then?

Lets see how the RoI gets on after 2019 with the Euro and just how the trading  of goods and services goes when it comes under more scrutiny.

Also once the travels in and out of the country from non-european citizens is monitored much closer than it has been for decades.

Payment for their membership to & the protection of NATO will be something else being negotiated no doubt.

But the UK does control most of the world, look at all the pink bits on the map, oops I was looking at a map of a hundred years ago.

Average UK voter clearly had little grasp of all the elements of the BREXIT.

Some sources are saying that the Con government will say to the DUP "accept this or you get Corbyn" (who some say is effectively a Republican).

The whole debacle reminds me of the demise of the British motor industry /Industrial Juggernaut that was England.

Norway, Iceland, Switzerland. Associate type membership of the EU.

Being a member of the British Commonwealth should count as being in a big clique, but seems not worth much really.

Norway-Sweden has a customs border.

So does Germany-Switzerland etc

Iceland as an island so can have pinch points like Ireland's airport and ports.

Looking like we may get a united Ireland by the backdoor or is that trapdoor, exit stage.

It is probably what most people in the 32 counties want and even what most UK mainland people want.

The 6 counties of NI have been an economic and political drag for decades cost millions of pounds a day a times.

There would be lots of pluses ie lower corporate taxes for NI meaning some companies might move there.

it would still be under Westminster but have the tax rules of the rest of Ireland.

Seems the best deal all round but whether Scotland and Wales will see it that way or feel that they are the poor relation to NI, Channel Islands, Isle of Man etc remains to be seen.

Customs jobs at those England, Scotland and Wales ports and they can keep the hundreds of millions of pounds of revenue maybe ?

People in the U.S. concerned with the current ugly drift are now looking at the potential advantages of compulsory voting .......on a Saturday too!

Just as Australia does.

The haves don’t want a bar of it of course and, out here, they’ve sometimes suggested that we adopt the U.S. method as an example of increased freedom for the masses.

Cynical bar....ds!

The more I see in the news the more it seems Europe (or the puppet we call Europe) is something that seems to be showing it's true colours as a complete nasty piece of work. The harder they make it for us makes me think why on earth would we want to stay with you lot? Run away, England.

Norway and Sweden and France and Switzerland have borders and they have customs posts on them. UK doesn't want customs posts it wants an open border with the EU - but only the one that English people won't see. It will be a tough as old boot s secure border at Dover but wide open along the 267 crossing points with Ireland.

I'm currently working on the all Ireland power regulations, the rules which control the all Ireland electricity grid and gas network. Northern Ireland is already regulated along with the Republic rather than GB but the DUP seem not to realise this. If they insist on doing things differently from the Republic they may find themselves in the dark as they don't generate enough power in NI to keep the lights on.

quite. The Brexiteer view of the world is that you can say you're leaving a club but it's then up to that club to provide answers to the numerous problems which your decision to leave causes.  Asking "what about x and y" is seen by Brexiteers as playing nasty.

I am currently wading through all the regulations for energy trading via the Eirgrid system. The DUP don't want to be governed by EU rules any more so that means the system of trading energy and supplying NI customers with their leccy will be rippped up and potentially the lights go out. And the reason for this? "it's European we don't like it". It works fine, it keeps the lights on but to hell with that Arlene says "NO (surrender)".

You couldn't make it up
