I've just bought a Octavia VRS estate and love it!

 

It's got a tow ball mounting bracket, but no tow ball... the wiring socket is also cable tied up above the bumper.

 

Does anybody know what sort of tow hitch will fit this, or who it's manufactured by? It doesn't look like the standard Skoda part... (Hopefully the link the photo will work...)

Detachable swan-neck type I think and Skoda do/ did do a detachable tow-bar for Octavias IIRC.

Dont think its a genuine skoda one (westfilia) as its not like mine on the scout, it could be an aftermarket one like towsure in sheffield - http://www.towsure.com/skoda-octavia-mk-ii-hatchback-1z-04-12-fixed-flange-towbar, cheers - Stuart

That's not a detachable tow bar in the usual sense, its just a standard swan neck that has been unbolted.

 

Your best bet would be to remove the bumper and look for any marking or stickers on the rest of it.

I've not managed to make any progress with what sort it is, doesn't seem to have any markings!

 

Looks like I'm buying a new complete kit.
