Signed the paperwork tonight, waiting for VW Finance to give the thumbs up and then it's pick up time.

Not quite happy with how the dealer is behaving around me wanting to pick up on the weekend.

When I said I wanted to inspect the car and do my own checks, they said that I would have 15 minutes end-to-end... I may end up having a word with someone else as I have a feeling, my new car will be dumped in the car park and I'll be asked to sign and leave.

Urgh, looks like I won't be picking it up tomorrow :(

Suggest you remind them about the post sale questionnaire that Skoda send you, asking if you're satisfied....

Very poor attitude to have. Most people are working, so the weekend is an obvious time to pick up a car. As long as there isn't a reason for the service dept to be open for this, then they should allow you.

Basically the paperwork was meant to be faxed off last night to be approved today.

Not having a great experience, especially as I had a bad experience just trying to test drive a car at another dealership.

Luckily I'm off on Tuesday so will do it then.

Well I hope my parents have a better experience! They've placed an order for a 1.4 TSI estate, in Pacific Blue, to replace their very early 2014 Superb (also a 1.4 TSI estate, in Pacific Blue!). They're expecting it in January, when the Superb will be 3 years old. They're switching a bit before the end of their PCP deal, but the dealership gave them a decent deal and the low list price of the SE Sport was good starting point! They don't quite need the space of the Superb anymore so the slightly smaller Octavia is perfect. Plus an extra 25PS in a lighter car makes it a bit more fun to drive, and the much better spec with xenons and satnav is great.

For anyone buying outright, may I ask what people are paying for a 1.4 SE or SE Sport, after presumably negotiating a discount?

And now it seems my signatures don't match.. I will get this car!

Annoyingly, whilst at the dealers signing new paperwork I saw the SE SPORT in red and it was amazing!

Nice one! I'm expecting a call/e-mail tomorrow, hopefully telling me I can pickup at the weekend.

Been waiting a few weeks for it, it was at factory exit (we needed a car sharpish) and its currently 'tagged for dealer drop'!

We went for the vRS Tdi Estate in black magic.

I had a minor but potential problem but otherwise all went pretty well.

I was given a copy of the contract with the VIN and Registration number on and setup insurance etc based on that. Arrived at the dealers to pick up the car to notice a different registration :(

Not too keen on the idea that the dealer just added the correct details to MID but when I called Skoda Insurance (5 day freebie) they still had the wrong reg despite they said it would be updated.

Fun huh.

Hi gRoberts, Glad you finaly got yours, what are you loving the most about the car?. Cant wait to see some pics.

I contacted my dealer last week and he said it is still getting built this week (week 48) still thinks we should have it for christmas but can not see it myself.

To be fair, despite researching and spending a month reading and watching **** loads of content on the car etc, I haven't had the chance to look properly yet.

So far (bound to change)

After driving around with candles strapped to the front of my car, having bi-xenons is like giving someone an x-ray when flashing them in/out of a junction. I absolutely love the dance it does as you first start the car.

    Look and feel amazings.

  • Dual Climate

Closest I've had to anything like this was a Ford Mondeo with the climate control but was pants.

  • Overall look

I really had a bad moment on Saturday as there was a SE Sport in Red prepared. Now I have a Corrida Red Fabia VRS as well and we saw red Octavia's but this one just looked amazing. After seeing mine today, I have almost forgotten about it, but I will probably get red next time!

Just waiting for my OBDEleven to turn up, as my VCDS Lite doesn't support this. Then it's fiddling!

Something I'm really interested in is the internal WIFI system that allows me to view data on the car.

Luckily... I have two days off work now!

Finally given a date to collect car, 28th of january, will arrive at dealers several days earlier but to close to christmas to complete.

Another 7 weeks? Are you sure you don't mean 28th of December? :p

My parents have been told that the factory wasn't accepting any new orders, and that as there weren't any unclaimed SE Sports in the right spec etc, that they're going to roll it over into a facelifted car. Not quite sure if this is a good thing or not- they're fine about the wait, as their Superb is still, well, superb, and the extras that the SE Sport has will be included on their car whether it comes as a facelifted car or not. Just not a massive fan of the new styling!

I thought the SE sport was a run of version before they switch over to the face lift.....

Yeah so did I! But it would seem that there aren't any available slots for a car that meets their spec- Pacific blue, 1.4 TSI estate.

  • 2 weeks later...

Looking good, although I can already see your next post about the path next to the drive jumping out and attacking your alloy wheels  :D

"40 miles back from dealers and already hitting 56mpg on maxi dot"

That's encouraging.

And looking good.

Looking well powyswales.

Am I the only person getting poor economy from my 1.4? Generally getting 37, going up to 41 on the motorway?

Sounds like your driving it quite hard, enjoying the turbo too much...?

If you cruise at 70mph on the motorway on cruise control, reset the mpg, what figures do you get?
