Direct download links for ECE 2017 maps

Featured Replies

Downloaded these for mine, anyone else noticed that you no longer need the space in postcodes and any saved destinations with postcodes with spaces no longer work? :dull:

  • Used the MIB1 link above & loaded the new 2017 maps onto my SD card & all is working as it should  cheers for the link aki78

  • Probably this is the direct link for MIB 2 Amundsen: http://infotainment-cdn.skoda-auto.com/base/maps/STD2_0730_EU1_2017.zip

2017 Maps now showing for me in the update portal.

I'm still having problems updating my Columbus in my VRS people, how can I not get this to work. I have used Windows 10 on my Mac, formatted the SD Card as exFAT. 2 folders in the root along with the text file, and I go to Nav on my Columbus, settings and update software, but it just says insert media with the updated software.

Any other ideas? The only issue I can see being is I'm using a MicroSD card to a SD Card adaptor, would this cause the issue?

The only one I'm seeing is another 12Gb file for

ECE 1 2017

The Czech Republic, Slovakia

Now does that mean that the map data has been expanded to include The Czech Republic & Slovakia or the map data is just The Czech Republic & Slovakia?   :wonder:

It definitely won't be the adapter, unless the adapter pins are broken, and the microsd isn't being seen. If it shows as a source under Media then the card is being read OK.

On the card itself, have you checked there's definitely no other hidden files or folders on the card? http://www.isunshare.com/windows-10/show-hidden-files-and-folders-in-windows-10.html

If that checks out OK, I'd be inclined to re-download the update files as nothing else you've mentioned should stop it from updating.

My one shows:

ECE 1 2017
Albania, Andorra, Austria, Belarus, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Gibraltar, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Island, Italy, Kosovo, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxemburg, Macedonia, Malta, Moldova, Monaco, Montenegro, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, San Marino, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Ukraine, United Kingdom, Vatican City

Guys I can't get this to update on my Columbus.

I have put the 2 folders and the text file on the root of the SD Card, go to update software on the screen and it doesn't pickup the updated maps.

Am I doing something wrong? I'm using a Mac, formatted the SD Card to exFAT.

Cheers.

It does work fine with a Mac. The problem is that macOS likes to put lots of its metadata in the root of any file system. Columbus doesn't like it and that metadata needs to be removed before the Columbus will begin the upgrade process.

Here's a post I wrote a few years back on how to clean up the metadata:

works fine on my 2016 plate vrs

May I ask what size SD card you have? I have been supplied with an 8GB card (not original) for my 2016 plate VRS and I can't see how this can be correct? Trying to get the Sat Nav sorted is driving me crazy

If you have Amundsen you need an original Skoda SD card for the maps to run from. Otherwise if you have Columbus you can update from a non original SD card to the maps stored on the unit. 8gb sounds on the small side though.

I don't have the card that originally came with the car when new. However the garage supplied a genuine Skoda card but without maps. I've gone to the update portal but the file with the UK on it is over 12 gigabytes in size while the card supplied only holds 8. Obviously I get the message that I don't have enough room on my card. I'm convinced that I've been given the wrong sized card and am just trying to establish if that is indeed the case?
