Auto Express Review

Featured Replies

Does but it's a shame that yet again SUK have failed quite spectacularly to do decent promotion on this vehicle and have failed to get the configurator up & running on the SUK website so that potential purchasers can see what they can & can't order.

Must admit I'm quite interested in this, but may hang back and let the early adopters do the "real world" testing and see how it goes before deciding whether to ditch the vRS, then again I may decide to hold on for the new Yeti and see what engines that has.

I like the car but can't remember a bad vag review on auto express.

The What car review on You Tube that has just been uploaded is very short and not that great. Possibly the reviewer not the best person for the job.

There are two reviews. Diesel auto review looks better.

So the reviewer is not smart enough to switch to the Individual program?

This happened too in the Autocar review of the 190PS TDI - http://www.autocar.co.uk/car-review/skoda/kodiaq/first-drives/2017-skoda-kodiaq-20-tdi-190-4x4-se-l-auto-review

...because the adaptive suspension and steering system (called DCC) is curiously set up. In Comfort mode, it rides well, but the steering is light and short of feel; in Normal it rides firmly and the steering is still a little off; in Sport the steering weights up nicely but the ride is too firm for anything but a smooth road. It's probably the only significant miscue of the car.

Just use Individual to set Sport steering and Comfort dampers...

Well my phone and email are on... no invite to test for any of our 120k+ members :(

I'll call them, but as we're not on SUK radar for promotion to potential owners...

Needs a V6 diesel to make it more attractive, It is a big car and 190PS is a bit puny for anyone hoping for a mildly sporty SUV, or who wants to tow anything.

Orville - totally agree! My Yeti tows 2100kg but the Kodiaq I'd want to buy (7 seats, SEL with DSG and 190ps) only tows 2000kg. Simply clever = not!

Is this lady so big or is te Kodiaq really so small?

Any comments regarding sound when turning the wheel when not moving?

I hope this is only an issue with the pre-production cars.

I've read test drive reviews in two swedish magazines and they really don't have ANYTHING negative to say, except that the driving experience is a bit less agile than the Ateca, but on the other hand the Kodiaq feels more premium than the Tiguan. Noone has mentioned anything other than 2500 kg towing capacity.

With Thomas and other Journalists mentioning noises Skoda CZ would be 'Simply Stupid' to not have a snagging fault resolved PDQ.

(As to magazines and missing important points like Towing Weights, that does not lead to giving their readers much trust in their journalists getting into detailed things & getting them correct.

Often many Journalist and Reviewers just take stuff as from the Media Pack, Never put a vehicle on a Weigh Bridge or Corner Weights,

or even adjust the Tyre Pressures from how they are handed the car before commenting on Handling & Ride. They jump in and then reach conclusions which get repeated from then on.  DSG's that are not yet behaving as they might in Day to Day Driving without Dynamic or Spirited Testing memories.)

@ 40 Min 30 seconds.  Noises.... Should be sorted before cars delivered or this is a 'fail',

Skoda 'Simply Clever'. Not 'Vorsprung Durch Technik'  'Tell them it is a characteristic!'

*Quite important with 7 Seater Vehicle tests is put 6 or 7 people and some bags in a car and drive it and see how it handles and behaves then.*

Agree with previous comment. If buying a skoda, than for me it means working horse, how much it can tow, roof loading capacity, what happens when I go on holliday with my family, car full loaded to factory max weight??? This guy seems to get some point....look at 11.50 min, you have english titles.....

Riolux - the 7 seat Kodiaq (2000kg) apparently pulls less than my Yeti (2100kg) and I'd love to believe that Skoda's configurator and their manual were wrong, but it seems not....

I'm absolutely sold on Skoda (past owner of Octavias, Superb and Yeti), but I want the 2500kg tow weight and 7 seats or I'll stick with the smaller, more economic car that (just) meets my ambitious towing needs!

Not round wheel arches for the first time "with the new design language." obviously the "not round" Yeti were in the previous Design Language,

ie not Journalist speak!
