Detailing Advent Calendar 2016

Featured Replies

Another absolutely awesome job done by my good lady.

So kind of her to make such an interesting Advent Calendar linked to my hobby and pastime.

Nice to see Karl's missus get involved and share the love as well this year.

Final thanks to Andy at CYR samples for helping out with some great ideas and pre-release new products too.

All that we need now is some decent detailing weather to get out and have a play with the samples.....

Both ladies & Andy Smith have smashed it out of the park! Really enjoyed the samples.

Looking forward to testing them! I was going to have a go with a few today but if we can make a day of it on both cars it'll be awesome!

Well, after a few weeks of crap weather - Karl and i made a start on testing out some of the 2016 Detailing Advent Calendar yesterday.

Product selection we used on the detail.... although EZ Granite is not fromt he sample set; but the sealant chosen on the day.

Of the products on the day.... dooka's range stood out for some great basic products - highly recommended, especially:-

dooka wash

Smells great, very slick, good cleaning power. I could certainly add this to my detailing regime.

Lacking in suds at my typical dilution ratio - but didnt seem to effect or hinder the performance.

Need to check on pricing structure for this.

dooka wheels

Astounded by this product. Previously i used Auto-Finesse Revolutions and wasnt amazed by it.

But dooka wheels performed really well. Mixed up in the wheel bucket with warm water.

The wheels were hit with AD Britegel first, then various wheels brushes and rinsed.

Even after this - i went round with a wheel mitt and dooka wheels and took another noticeable layer of dirt off.

For sure - one that i will add to my regime. Very impressed byt this one.

dooka bleed

Final product from dooka to test on the day. Not as impressed by this one - unfortunately.

A very slow reacting fallout remover. tested side by side with CarPro Iron-X on paint, it just couldnt keep up.

Tested on the wheels - performed well and picked up the main fallout and bleeding apparent. On paint - it was just too slow for my liking.

On the plus side - you can tell that major effort has gone into masking the usual fallout odour, and dooka has done a good job in that respect.

dooka glass

I didnt use this on the day; but i know Karl has used it and found it to be the best glass cleaner by far.

Karl struggles with his ecig residue on the inside glass of the Fabia vRS and dooka glass worked really well and no smears.

Awesome write up on the products mate and pretty much echo my thoughts! Great days detailing! Cheers!
