Washer Fluid

Featured Replies

Hi,

Any recommendations of a good place to get the VW washer fluid at a decent price online??

I am never near a dealer when parts dept are open. Standard VW fluid performs exceptionally well so would like to stick with that.

Unless anyone can recommend anything better?

Euro car Parts stuff is ok, or the extreme stuff from Lidl when they have it in.

I use Halfords ready mixed fluid. Have done for years and never had a problem.

I always buy the VAG washer fluid from an e-Bay shop. I think I pay £6.99 posted for 1 litre. Then dilute it with de-ironised water from asda for £1.50.

I use car plan all seasons concentrated screen wash from andrew page it cost me £13 for 4 x5l tubs mix 1-1 winter 1-5 summer used it on both cars lasted for 18 months , im about ready for my next batch

I recycle the water from our condenser dryer and mix it in a 5 ltr water bottle with a pouring spout on

I tend to buy the VAG stuff in boxes of ten from eBay. It normally works out just over £4 a bottle, for example: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/182433752890

Just to mention, the Sonax is only for summer use as it will freeze in colder conditions.

Ah yes this is the winter version I believe: http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/engine-and-exterior/sonax-nanopro-xtreme-anti-freeze-concentrate/prod_1310.html

Although I don't think the standard one has frozen for me yet this winter - but then I'm very rarely in the car early morning.

Don't put adblue in there a colleague at work did  does crazy crystal things across the screen.  It was like watching ice form. :emoticon-0101-sadsmile:

I use Euro Car Parts stuff, works well enough and doesn't smell too bad. It helps that I get staff discount:biggrin:

I did the same using Asda, 4x 5l for ten pounds, special promotion again some 15 months later I still have 1 1/2 tubs left.
