Ed from wheeler dealers

Featured Replies

Watch the shows again mate and stick the reg numbers in dvla mot history check they usually disappear of the road around the same year of filming

Not saying edd isn't a semi decent mechanic but he isn't as good as he looks on the TV

And when a guy a know a few years back when down to do some press shoots for terraclean for marketing and for the episode it fist appeared in he mentioned some cars take months to do and Paul does a lot more than we see

Again look again at episodes one shot the car has just come in other shots it's covered in dust

And just to add if most people had every single special tool just happen to in the workshop I'm sure we could all build a 911 from the ground up

Nothing against ed personally but a lot of things on that show don't add up

Plenty on other forums did the detective work on some cars, MOT's after the show and such using the registration numbers and change of numbers.

Ed China does wonderful work in the main, some were just a mess when you see just what parts are being put on.

An example is the Jaguar episode that the Teraclean was done on.

That has been on the telly this week, look at some of the rust just ignored underneath, only cosmetic but shows, All that glitters is not gold'.

PS

For watching a pair of proper plonkers,

Quest @ 9pm tonight for reruns of 'Classic Car Rescue'.

NSFW!

Filmed at Canons Park Motors just up the road from me. Not a garage with a good reputation, so these two clowns fit right in.

I can't remember the name but the one with Fuz Townsend in is about the best of the bunch, but even that has 'annoying tim' in it

Car SOS.

Todays was a cracking show with the Fiat that had Seat hub caps.

(Camera man had focus just right on the car owner partners cleavage.)

Can I revive this thread to say, it looks like Edd is/will back restoring old cars again.

I'm not sure where it will be shown, but have a feeling it's only on YouTube.

Your favourite mechanic, Edd China from Wheeler Dealers, is back with what we hope will be a new program series. In Edd China’s Garage Revival, Edd will work with car owners, whose restoration projects have got the better of them, to get their plans back on track. In the pilot episode, Edd travels to Norway to get a Golf MK1 GTI back where it belongs - on the road.

The full pilot episode will be available on May 1st.

Looks good and good to see Ed back to doing what he does best.

Brilliant :)

His part on WD is always my favourite bit,

Other than the occassional time Mike visits one of those little cottage industry places for a bespoke part. Watching the craftsmen do what they do is always fantastic.

Sorry, but a recent program has shown Edd as a good Mechanic, BUT he should leave electrical faults to those versed electrical fault finding ,before offering advice. If Edd gets wear in a suspension component, he'll work in a logical fashion to find the problem. BUT in one program he said that finding an electrical fault was trial and error. It's not, and indeed, there's a maxim that irrespective of the length of the circuit, a fault can be pinponted in 8 tests., using logical ,not hit & miss methods.

I watched ep2 in the latest series of Car SOS and got proper choked up.  A few days into the project (Lancia Delta Integrale) they got a phonecall to say that the owner had passed away due to ongoing ill health.

Very sad but it was great to see the Lancia Delta OC rally round (pardon the pun) and put on a good turnout for the unveiling of the car.  It looked very nice indeed.  Much better than the one WD did a few years ago.

It was a good one Davy and I think if you're a bit of a petrol head you'll appreciate it even more.  I found it quite sad and fun in equal measure; like an episode of Only Fools and Horses.

I found car SOS by accident, a couple years back and have watched it ever since. I like the knowledge of fuzz and the stories of the lucky people.

I've not watched most of the series, but this is a great episode. An interview and reminisce with "my mate Paul".

How crazy that anyone should want the Ice Cream van put back to an ICE.

Surely if they did not want it as an EV there was a buyer out there that would have and got publicity using it.

Maybe selling Ice Creams near Cop 26 in Glasgow in November.

That would actually be quite a clever marketing stunt!
