So Columbus Stock radio/GPS giving satellites but always 0/9 or 0/10 or even 11 or 12.  But getting no fix on mode and map no showing where I am at all. But with driving map moves.

 

 

Thinking its the aerial but thought I'd ask here.

 

Rather than changing out aerial could I install one of the GPS aerials in dash are they any use? Recommend one?

Just buy a £5 gps antenna and stick it on top of the unit. It should work. I have one, but postage will be expensive to Ireland I'm afraid.

 

Buy a cheap GPS antenna off ebay.  Run wiring under dash to passenger side A pillartrim area.  It should sit nicely on top of dash near windscreen without being obvious and with no real visible wiring.

I agree with the comment above, fitted fleabay unit a while back, just stuck it over the radio and it worked very well. I intended to move it under the windscreen but didn't bother in the end.
