after a few weeks and my induction kit fitted i got a engine warning light on, the fault code was a air/fuel problem, most likely due to the chip but it does make a difference. i got a propper remap now so dont need it but i wonder if i could put in in still for some extra bhp on race night?. it did make the car smoke a bit but since remap i have never seen any smoke :)

It never stops to amaze me just how quick the vRS is. All I Can say is I reckon it probably takes my 1.4 8v the same time to get to around 60 as it would take a vRS to do about 100!!:P All I can imagine is how hard it pushes you into your seat

  • 3 weeks later...

Old gearbox won't make any difference as it's only 6th gear that's different to the best of my (limited ;)) knowledge and I sure hope 0-60 isn't done in 6th :P

There are several problems with a diesel and 0-60:

1. You can't get the power down in 1st, but you've got to use it if you care about your clutch

2. Being careful you can put some power down in 2nd.

3. Then in 3rd you can plant it.

At this time a petrol will have taken off - first in a petrol may be short but it will drive away, hit the high revs and then stay in the high revs dropping into 2nd, probably hitting 60mph on a reasonable number of cars.

Also the driveshafts wouldnt like the full grunt in the lower gears I'm guessing;)
