Misfire

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I've just bought a 1997 Felicia Estate with 115k on the clock. I paid £80 for it so the fact it's misfiring doesn't really bother me, I would just like to keep her going as long as possible!! She misfires both on idle and under load although to be honest it's most of the time haha.

What should I check first before going down the road of expensive garage diagnostics?

Thanks in advance!!

First things to check would be the spark plugs.

You could check the VCDS map, contact the person closest to you and get your car scanned.

Plugs/HT leads/King HT Lead/Dizzy cap if it has one/IGN Coil.

But as LGM said - plugs first for condition and to see if any evidence of deeper engine probs.
