So I enabled this today.....

Enabled using OBD11, using VCDS instructions I found elsewhere - can't remember exactly where that was sorry, so I can't credit the original post, but if I find it again, I'll post the link for courtesy.

At first, I didn't think it had worked, as I couldn't see anything obvious on-screen or where to view it, but it's actually hidden in the "Car" button, under settings.

VCDS Instructions:

Controller 5F (Information Electrical)

10 – Adaptations
Channel: (81) Car_Function_Adaptations_Gen2-menu_display_compass: Active
Channel: (83) Car_Function_Adaptations_Gen2-menu_display_compass_over_threshold_high: Active
Channel: (41) Car_Function_List_BAP_Gen2-compass_0x15: Active

And that's it!

There's a lot of other options inside that Car_Function......menu_display folder.... I haven't played around with anything else, but I suspect there may be other ****y things to enable in there, for other models.
Presumably this adaptation, while listed where I found it as being for Superb, will probably also apply to Tiguan/Toe-rag/Kodiaq models that are "offroad" capable.

Looks good! Presumably only works with MIB 2?

Pretty sure it is so ;) Also, the "Gen2-menu" portion of the options kinda gives it away.

...I saw a video in YouTube teaching how to do this and he speculated on the description that you can also enable the performance menu in the same way - that one is WAY more interesting, but since I have MIB1, I haven't been doing that much investigation into this.

Third one is a sonar, just dive into the lake and you will see it working.

Hmmmm. New Scout arrives in a few weeks.

Need to meet up with andyvee again!

Just done this.

I'll probably never use it, but hey, it's cool

Also did this, but haven't driven far enough to make a definitive judgment yet.

Tried this just there with VCDS, managed to only get three compasses! Any ideas? First adaption change does that action. Can’t see a change for the other two.

There's only 3 dials that show up - will originally show all compasses, but swipe each dial up or down to select the other dials

Ah that's where I'm going wrong, I'll must swipe the dials. Will do that later. Cheers.

What a fun and useless feature :D

However I could not get it to work, when I pressed DO IT! I got Error - Request out of range! on VCDS.

odd, using OBD11 when i go into 5F and then select adaptions i keep getting an error message :(

anyone else experiencing this?

Hmmmm.... Mine worked straight away (OBD11)

Has it updated to the latest firmware version?
Mine did an update about a week ago, before I was allowed to do any coding.

It actually updated the firmware inside the dongle itself, I believe.

And I can't answer why the VCDS method didn't work - as converting from those instructions to OBD11, is how I enabled mine....
