Replaced the brake light switch on my 2004 fabia Vrs, following brake lights that stayed on and flashing coil light, the brake lights now work, but the coil light does not work at all, even with ignition/start up, any ideas?

My Brake switch went recently also, but I had no brake lights at all! try unplugging and replugging the connection  to ensure you have got a decent contact as my coil light stayed on and after fiddling with the wire and depressing the pedal a few times it went off! failing this see if you can find someone with VAGCOM to plug it in and investigate what faults codes come up!
