Power loss

Featured Replies

Anyone experienced a power loss on the 2.0 tdi vrs its only for like a second you can feel it surge it has happend a few times now. Its not doing a regen as i first thought as i have checked it with vag dpf. Its a similar feeling to getting air in the diesel line last night i was going about 60mph when i felt it half a tank of fuel so not low. Any thing i should get checked while its still under warranty its 15plate coming upto 17k miles. Its so random i think it would be hard to prove it.

If it is a stored error it should have a time/date stamp, so if you make a note of the time, they should be able to check the log at that time (I know I can on my machines, so cars should be similar).

Been having the problem since November! Skoda UK claim it's normal though as you've experienced it's definitely not! I've had to register a complaint with vw finance as it's a lease car to try and get it fixed. They'll say it's designed bro protect the flywheel or egr valve.

If your dealers like mine they'll be really helpful, my car just won't do it while there engineer is driving so they're having problems.

This is something long running on the forum with many users experiencing the same thing.

For me, it is not normal & DMF protection is not an reason for this (the sudden jerk between power delivery is definately not protecting the DMF).

I think its just a calibration issue where the EGR valve or Throttle is popping open/closed very briefly when it shouldn't do.

I don't think its likely there will be an calibration update for this issue after it has been present for so long...

had this for over a year. dealer says its software thing and will be fixed in the next ecu software update. had mine in for a service a month ago but no new update on the software.

nothing to worrie about they said but still very annoying.

I have had this same issue, driving down highway with cruise control on and the car had a momentary loss of power then back on it's merry way.

One thing I have noticed is that after a period of constant cruising and coming to a stop, on acceleration there is a large white cloud in my wake and subsequent accelerations do not produce this same cloud, I am guessing (hoping) that it is steam from a build up of moisture in the inlet manifold.  I got the idea it is building up moisture in the inlet is that at one of the services there was a comment about draining the inlet manifold.

So my thought is that as the intercooler is integrated into the manifold, under certain circumstances there may be a build of of condensation which when it gets to a certain level is sucked into the engine.  Happy to be proved wrong though.
