Can anyone confirm if the Bolero can have the basic £8 cable above fitted to it?

No, would require the cd changer port to be used.

you could use a ignition live from the fuse box and use a fuse tap. Only issue there is when the ignition is on the amp will be on, no matter if the headunit is on or not.

Have a look at connects2 and autoleads. They are the market leaders in this kind of kit so look on their website and if you cant find what you want email them

so after a LOT of research, this is the answer (I think) https://www.amazon.co.uk/Adaptor-2-Channel-Amplifier-Remote-Quadlock/dp/B00SRGV9QS

PnP harness that acts as an intermediate between the quadlocks although I found it in Poland for £16 so at that price it's worth a punt.

should make it fairly simple to remove should I want to in the future, it's on order so i'll keep you all posted on this and write something up should it all work.

Did you try contacting connects2 or autoleads?

no but I checked both of their sites and nothing seemed to match, the only thing they had was a high to low LOC, ive had a slight change of plan at the moment door cars are coming off next week and im fitting hertz 6.5 comps all round and see if I still feel the need for a sub

ok quick update on this quadlock harness out has waaay too much substance to fit nearly behind the bolero - so onto something else.

LOC - RCA adaptor -- question is does the amp have to have high level input ? because im not sure it has

When I fitted my Bluetooth harness behind my stereo, I had to cut away a little of the dash support to make room. The loom can now be pulled through behind the glovebox.

yeah i thought about that but decided LOC would be the much easier route - which has now arrived so fitting that this weekend :)

just waiting on my gain control now - so i can control the sub (to a degree) whilst retaining control over the speakers too so i should come out with a quite manageable system - quiet when needed for those early morning starts - and bass heavy for those early friday finishes :D

so here's the low down on this

Quadlock intermediate - whilst this will work the additional cabling will make it a PITA to get behind a bolero - with a Columbus forget it it'll never go without cutting part of the support unit out.

the best option to fit an amp will be a line out converter - which you install spliced into the rear speaker cables in the original quadlock at the rear of head unit (ensure you get one with gain control) Maplin does them for £20

obviously you'll need power so take your battery out and glove box, remove internal channel panels (b pillar etc)

piggy back from the cigarette lighter fuse for your remote and channel down the panels

whilst I had the head unit out I also installed an inline gain controller like the vibe BC10 and put that in the cubby hole under the aircon unit
