Dealer contacted me at the weekend saying it was going to build in the next few days. Slightly different from week 1. Still nothing on trackmyskoda.....

I'm going to assume the dealer is talking rubbish until proven otherwise!

I think the dealer is telling the truth. It seems that generally you are given a really unrealistic build week at first and then it moves forward massively. I have been given week 21 next year! But have been told it will probably be build in December/Early Jan

Hi,

A word of caution about TrackMySkoda, it only works if tyou have bought via certain Skoda dealers.  Best way to check is via Skoda Live Chat, if you have the order number.

Yeah it says as much on their site, but i'm sure someone on here said that it eventually works for ALL SLI numbers....  I got my week 1 build by tweeting Skoda Uk though :-D

Lets hope you're right, as the dealer did say they already had a car on order that they'd tweak to our spec and they marked is as priority, because our car is on its last legs and needs to actually get to them for scrappage deal....(pretty sure this is dealer BS tbh).

In fact, its purely the fact that they told me, which makes me question it!

Basically what the "priority" bit means is that they have changed it from a dealer order to a customer order. So now that the car is ordered for a paying customer (you) and not the dealer themselves, it gets priority over any other dealer orders.

cool thanks for letting me know, seem you have insider knowledge, i'd better stop dissing main dealers!

Its only because I have been hassling my dealers over my 245 order!

I'm in the same boat. Car caught fire 2 months ago, and is still driveable, but won't pass MOT when it's due in December. I've been offered a courtesy car to bridge the gap between MOT due date and new Octy delivery date, but I'm not sure this is something all dealers offer.

Mine's come forward to BW48, so hopefully a nice Christmas present to myself.

Guess who's at status 70 (arrived at dealer) then.  :music::dance::rofl:

Wow, sounds like you have an awesome dealer! Ye@h, not sure ours will pass the emissions test, but that’s not til Feb, so hoping for a miracle!

So I ordered my 245 on the 11th September.

Been checking with Skoda weekly, it's gone from week 1 to week 7 and now to week bloody 13 of 2018!?    All unconfirmed of course.

Great....      :/

Bad news. Do they give any explanation, or just say 'well, it's unconfirmed, so tough...'

This is what i'm dreading as i think our Volvo is officially dead now and we're down to using a 2+2 coupe as the family car....

Mines week 20 of 2018...Been told though that the system chooses a random date, then you get an unconfirmed date, then a confirmed date. I have been told to expect early Jan or even Dec Build slots

That's re-assuring, the dealer said something along the same lines to be fair.

When did you place your order Matt?

Only last month, so not long ago. But, I have been nagging my dealer over the build week as I am not waiting until summer next year for the car, and hes pretty confident once the factory look at the order, they will manually move it forward to Dec/Jan.

Cheers for that, with that in mind, mine being an early September order, I should hopefully get a pleasant surprise when they actually look at my order then!

Thanks!

Thanks!

Fingers crossed. Too be honest, Anything later than a March delivery for me and I will be really annoyed. I have been told that the 245's have been in exceptional demand though. Im also aware that Aldershot Skoda in Winchester have one in stock ready for collection if anyone wants one ASAP...Unless its sold of course!

They did try to sell it to me on PCP but the payments were pretty high.

In exceptional demand because of the absurd prices they're throwing them out on lease I expect.

Oh yes, the grey one with EVERY option I wanted and more (over £6k's worth) for £28490?   it sold last night, I very nearly cancelled my current order for that car but got the call about 6pm to say it was sold :(

They told me they have a red one too. Quoted me £23k on carwow if I were to PCP it which is pretty cheap! However as the 245 is my second car I am leasing mine so wanted lower payments. I spoke to them the other day so it may still be for sale

Good info, Glad we went for the standard one! I understand a 'halo' car can command a premium and I may be wrong, but they didn't seem to be justifying the extra cost for 15 bhp and a fancy(er) diff. Have I missed something special about the 245?

You get the heated, electric Alcantara seats as standard, The electronic Diff, extra BHP, the 19 Xtreme alloys, black pack, 7 Speed DSG box etc.

If you were to spec a standard VRS with these options, it actually comes to more than the cost of a 245 I believe.

ah ok, we're getting a manual and my wife didn't like the black alloys (its her daily) so it seems we're doing the right thing! plus we may get it this year if we're lucky

Makes sense! I'm going to use mine as a co-daily with my BMW 120D. My lease is for 10k miles PA and I do much more than that so I will need to swap between cars

The build weeks do seem to jump about a lot but this does sound quite extreme.  Mine jumped around at most 3 weeks at a time.  I would say that 16 weeks max from order to collection is about right, barring any unforeseen developments.  I will keep my fingers crossed for you all :).
