So been waiting since wk 43 , when the car should have gone in to build , finally got an answer today that its at status 30 on way to the port , any bets i get it before mid december , would like to be driving by the 6 December as i have a week away in Devon , rather be doing 600 mile round trip in a DSG Race Blue car , should then have it Run in by the time i come back . Cheers

I would say that you have a very good chance of getting your car by the 6th December.  Fingers crossed for you!  Nice to see you've chosen the best and fastest colour too :D.

Ordered mine week 33, told at week 40 that it had a provisional week 46 build. Now only a week away from that provisional date it's still not been confirmed. Skoda seem to make it up as they go along, I think they may need a touch of the infamous German efficiency or lose customers going forward.

You're preaching to the choir here

I find it hilarious how impatient a lot of you become. It'll be here

If you think waiting 23 weeks is hilarious then :x

It's not so much the point of being impatient it's more the way they tend to throw build weeks around and how sometimes orders that have been say made after my particular order week of 33 are built before, there doesn't seem to be much of a system that neither my dealer or Skoda UK can figure out.

This is it exactly .

I waited 24 weeks for my previous vrs. At BMW I had a customer wait 80 weeks for their car and at Audi I have had a customer wait over 40. 20 odd is now the norm I'm afraid :(

Hi Jay

I've laid out my thoughts on wait time at length way earlier in this thread.  Suffice to say I don't mind waiting if I'm given accurate and truthful information which allows me to make an informed decision.  I get pee'd off when this isn't the case and I'm getting fobbed off and feel I'm being treated like a mug.  This is why, as I've said earlier in the thread, this is the first and last time Skoda will have my custom.  I'm a firm believer in not rewarding bad customer service.

I'm off to take my chill pill  and hit the sack.  Cheers!

Hi Peter,

No worries, I agree with you. As a sales person I always added 4-6weeks to factory order guestimations as at the point of order that is all they are. I'd take this up with your dealer as it seams like most of us who are waiting for 245s have been told an average of 20 weeks. Give or take 4. Do you have an sli number and proposed build week?

Hi Jay

Got my car last month (11th Oct) which was ordered on 3rd May.  I was told 14 weeks from the get go, both from the dealer and (repeatedly) from Skoda Customer Services.  Once I emailed the MD this suddenly became 20 weeks and apologies for the dealer and the 3 customer services agents I had regular ongoing conversations with who were telling me 14 weeks .

If I'd been told 20 weeks at the start I would either have accepted that or looked at alternatives.  It would have also been nice to be told that my order spanned the 3 week factory closure with that consequent additional delay.

I think your policy of adding 4-6 weeks to factory estimates is sensible.  This means that quite often delivery is early and you have a happy customer.

I think Skoda have a lot to learn in terms of keeping customers informed and onside.  It's such a shame as the car itself is fantastic and everything I hoped for.

Before I ordered the Octavia I looked at the 1.4tsi dsg Leon fr that had a ridiculous 37 week build time as they had ran out of engines and wheels, how the hell can a car company do that!

This is exactly why I do it. The last Q7 factory order I had the car turned up 6 weeks early. Customer was over the moon. I also ordered an S5 coupé for a customer and it arrived 1 week after it was built. I had to keep it on site for him for a month as he waited for his previous car to go back lol

It was the same for us at audi. 1.4 engine orders suddenly went from 12-16 weeks to 20 plus. I guess the huge order swing from diesel caught them all off guard. The advantage is that you can now order a diesel A3 in whatever spec you Like and it'll be built in only 8 weeks.

I once ordered a BMW 335d for myself and it was held off by 8 weeks as the factory supplier had run out of the upgraded brakes.

Just had mine delivered. Went for a quick drive and its much quicker than I thought too be honest. Build quality is superb too.

Quick photo below but will get better ones over the weekend

That's a great Xmas present then!  I would expect you to have your car by the 9th or 10th of December if it's being built next week.  Fingers crossed for you :).

This afternoon I received confirmation that my car is built. Delivery should take place in 2-3 weeks time. Guess it will be Christmas present after all

Good news!  It seems like Santa is working his elves hard to get the cars out before Xmas :D.

Car arrived to main dealership here in Croatia. It should be with me by midst of next week. Starting to be excited.

I always think that this is the best time...The car has arrived and you're in the final countdown.  Enjoy it!

Just checked - still BW 1. Need to stop being impatient...

Had an email from the dealer to say that our estimated collection date is 29 December - looks like Christmas might be coming slightly late this year
