Great stuff!  Delighted that you've got your car!

Just posted a pic in the Oct 111 register

I'm doing a europe tour this summer and wanted to control battery usage by dashcam, cool box etc etc by having everything off when the car is off.  Probably not a big issue for some but I much prefer this method of operation, that's all.

That's a relief - your comment about going up in flames had me worried for a bit!

Just a quick update, collected my car this morning, ordered 8/9/17,dealers are now quoting 6 months for 1 litre octavia and karoq's in Ireland

Looks smart, we're getting the 1.0 Estate in the same colour but different wheels. It's nice to get a view of the front end with those lights, as most of the publicity shots are with LED running lights etc

Yep there's a sportsline trim here that adds keesy LEDs hawk alloys and a few bits n bobs  for 2 grand

LEDs  are a 1000 euro option

I considered dropping the metallic and getting the LEDs/sportsline pack but I'm too cheap !!!!!!

In reality I thought the metallic outweighed the LEDs in the looks dept and really spending more money on an "ordinary" Octavia wouldn't be a wise move.

Just had an email. Its at the dealership checked and awaiting a registration number!

Still waiting for dealer to get a delivery date from the transport company here. We're all aiming for 2rd Feb handover so I can take it to the detailer though.

I'd say very pessimistic, mine was built on the Tuesday 16th of Jan, travelled to Emden on Wednesday the 17th and by the next update on Monday the 22nd of Jan it was in the UK with a transport order raised from the port to the dealership. Just waiting for a transporter to fill up with cars destined for my area now.

Looks like there's a ship is on its way back from Sheerness at the moment - let's hope there's plenty of room on board

Do you get order updates automatically from Skoda or does your dealer pass them on as a courtesy?

Neither, in my case!  I had to keep phoning and making a nuisance of myself.  Even when escalated to the Skoda UK Executive Office there wasn't much improvement.  I hope you fare better!

Dealer says the will but in reality its not as often as you'd like! No point telling you nothing has changed. I ended up using skoda live chat to ask every other week

Just been on Live Chat again & apparently it's still in transit from the factory to Emden - if that's true then I'm a bit ****ed off, can't believe it takes 6 days for a train to travel 500 miles (well, not in Europe anyway, over here that would be pretty quick!). I'd kind of assumed that it would have been on the ship that docked in Sheerness yesterday & was hoping it might be ready for the weekend

I've heard nothing from the dealer since I placed the order in October other than a couple of replies to emails about 5 year warranty & the order number, along with an email from the Sales Manager thanking us for the order & telling us the collection date was scheduled for 29 December 2017!

They don't send the trains to the docks or the boats across the water until they are full. Hence you can be unlucky enough to have your car be the first at the train depot and wait 2 weeks before the train gets to the docks then have the car sit there for 4 weeks whilst it waits for the boat. On the flip side your car could also get lucky, go straight on a train then straight onto a boat. I once had an S5 coupé turn up at the dealer 1 week after build.

Unfortunately I didn't keep transcripts of Live Chat, but I'm sure at least one of them said that it was on the train en route to Emden, which implies that it's left the factory. However, stressing about it won't make any difference, it'll arrive when it arrives - I'm just getting impatient to get my new toy!
